AgilQuest Corporation Expands Office Space Utilization and Hoteling Software to Android Phones with New OnBoard Mobile App
2013-05-01
RICHMOND, VA, May 01, 2013 (Press-News.org) AgilQuest Corporation released a native mobile app giving Android phones access to OnBoard, AgilQuest's hoteling and conference room management technology, from any covered wireless or WiFi location. OnBoard for Android joins AgilQuest's apps for iPhone and Blackberry to complete their support for all mobile workers using the most popular company-supplied or BYOD mobile devices.

"Users demand the convenience of native apps on their phones. When you make it this simple to find a desk from anywhere or to check in to a reservation with just a tap on your phone, user adoption goes through the roof and space planners get the boost of accurate actual use of space data," said John Vivadelli, CEO of AgilQuest.

User adoption is critical when workplace goals require cooperation from each and every worker. Mobile workers expect more than simple web-based solutions and AgilQuest delivers the first native apps with check in, check out, and automatic vicinity notification.

Torrance Houlihan, VP of Product Management for AgilQuest, states "OnBoard's new interfaces for iPhone and Android use built-in GPS, Location-based services and geo-fencing to notify users when they are close enough to the office to check in to their reservations. It just pops up and asks 'Check in now?' while you're approaching the front door or walking across the parking lot. Customers are calling this a 'game changer' and are accelerating their upgrade plans to take advantage of these new mobile apps."

Now that OnBoard is available across all popular smartphones, excitement about the new mobile interfaces has been universal across HR, IT, CRE and line-of-business executives. AgilQuest's Scout interface brings OnBoard to Blackberry and other mobile web smartphones without having to navigate a full website while the iPhone and Android native apps make satisfy users' needs with just a couple of taps and swipes.

OnBoard for iPhone, OnBoard for Android, and OnBoard Scout for Blackberry are compatible with OnBoard version 5.5 and higher and are all available immediately.

Team finds markers related to ovarian cancer survival and recurrence

2013-04-30
Researchers have identified biomarkers that can be used to determine ovarian cancer survival and recurrence, and have shown how these biomarkers interact with each other to affect these outcomes. Their findings appear in the journal PLOS ONE. Researchers try to find molecules called biomarkers that help determine a person's likelihood of getting a disease or, if they have already been diagnosed, how far the disease has advanced. Genes, transcription factors and microRNAs are often used as biomarkers because these molecules are associated with disease susceptibility ...

UCSB researchers successfully treat autism in infants

2013-04-30
(Santa Barbara, Calif.) –– Most infants respond to a game of peek-a-boo with smiles at the very least, and, for those who find the activity particularly entertaining, gales of laughter. For infants with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), however, the game can be distressing rather than pleasant, and they'll do their best to tune out all aspects of it –– and that includes the people playing with them. That disengagement is a hallmark of ASD, and one of the characteristics that amplifies the disorder as infants develop into children and then adults. A study conducted by ...

2013-04-30
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Scholars have long known that voters tend to believe that the candidates they support will win, even when victory seems unlikely. A new study by psychologists at the University of California, Riverside and Iowa State University — "Causes and Consequences of Expectation Trajectories: 'High' on Optimism ...

Tiny worm sheds light on giant mystery about neurons

2013-04-30
BETHESDA, MD – April 30, 2013 -- Scientists have identified a gene that keeps our nerve fibers from clogging up. Researchers in Ken Miller's laboratory at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) found that the unc-16 gene of the roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans encodes a gatekeeper that restricts flow of cellular organelles from the cell body to the axon, a long, narrow extension that neurons use for signaling. Organelles clogging the axon could interfere with neuronal signaling or cause the axon to degenerate, leading to neurodegenerative disorders. This research, ...
