ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA, October 30, 2010 (Press-News.org) A new exhibition showcasing the work of Robert Dowling will be opening in Adelaide later this year.
The display - entitled Tasmanian Son of Empire - will give travellers staying at the cheap accommodation Adelaide offers the chance to get to know the beautiful style of painting that Dowling is famous for.
Showing at the Art Gallery of South Australia (SA) from November 19th until February 13th 2011, it will be the first major exhibition of the artist's work in the country and is on loan from the National Gallery of Australia, according to the venue.
"Robert Dowling holds a special place in the history of Australian art. He was the first artist to be trained in Australia and was renowned for his paintings of pastoralists and their properties, indigenous people and biblical themes," added a representative from the arts space.
Guests at nearby accommodation such as the Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide will be happy to hear that they do not have to pay any extra to enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition once they have purchased a ticket for A$10.
While attendees are at the prestigious arts venue, they could check out one of the other displays available, such as Desert Country.
Opening hours at the complex are from 10:00 to 17:00 local time every day.
