LANDES, FRANCE, June 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) French Fusion Holidays was founded in 2003 by husband and wife Benn and Amy Coley. "We created a new genre of family holiday back then," said Benn, sitting poolside at their impressive hillside house that has become a home-from-home for hundreds of British families seeking holidays in France with a difference. "No Going Back certainly was the springboard we needed," remarked Amy. "We were delighted when Channel 4 decided to feature us in a follow-up series."
These family activity holidays are ideally suited to one big family or two smaller families who like to holiday together. French Fusion can cater for up to 11 people. French Fusion Holidays has activities to suit all children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. Even the grown ups have a great time indulging in a little bit of surfing, white water rafting, mountain biking, stand-up paddle boarding and canoeing with their children. "We can now proudly say that we host probably the best family activity holidays in France," said Benn.
French Fusion is ideally situated near Biarritz in the South West of France, in the pretty little village of Pouillon. Its location is ideally placed for day trips to the golden sandy beaches with their amazing waves for surfing. That isn't where it ends as they are also only an hour away from the foothills of the Pyrenees where their guests can do some of the best white water rafting, canyoning and mountain biking that Europe has to offer. "With the benefit of the mountains and the Atlantic coastline so close, there is pretty much nothing that cannot be arranged for families and their children," Amy pointed out.
French Fusion Holidays includes all transportation, from airport transfer to all the activity destinations: the beach, the foothills of the Pyrenees, the local vineyards, the ports and the beautiful Basque beach towns in the South West of France, including Biarritz, Bayonne, Hossegor and St Jean de Luz.
The cuisine at French Fusion is second to none. Amy lovingly prepares all meals taken at their beautiful Basque style guest-house, Houtsak Ina, utilising fresh local produce, much of it sourced from local markets and farms. All breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served on the wonderful terrace overlooking the swimming pool and the landscaped and woodland gardens. "Most of our guests over the last 10 years have gone home raving about the food and insisting Amy write her own cook book," laughs Benn.
French Fusion will tailor holidays to suit each your family's desires. The Coleys aim to make it a family activity holiday in France that will be remembered for a long time and ensure they go home and tell all their friends what an amazing, action-packed time was had in this beautiful part of France where they can eat and drink to their heart's content.
"Booking a holiday with French Fusion couldn't have been easier," said Ian McAllister, one of their guests. "We found them online at, www.frenchfusion.com. Amy gave us a call for an informal and friendly chat, asking about our dietary requirements, children's ages and our appetite for activities. It's perfect. I would describe it as a five star home-from-home without having to cater for yourself or think of what to do whilst on holiday. Benn and Amy do it all for you - even keeping your children entertained and tired out by the end of the day."
French fusion offers catered adventure and activity holidays in the South of France, perfect for families and couples alike. Contact benn@frenchfusion.com for more details.

Research teams led by Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Cancer Center investigators are publishing two important studies regarding use of the targeted cancer drug crizotinib for treatment of advanced lung cancer driven by specific genetic mutations. The first reports the final results of a global, phase 3 trial showing that crizotinib is superior to standard chemotherapy for treatment of advanced ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The second paper describes the first report of resistance to crizotinib treatment in a patient with ROS1-positive NSCLC and ...

Targeted therapy boosts lung cancer outcomes
2013-06-01
BOSTON––Thousands of patients with an advanced form of lung cancer that carries a specific dysfunctional gene are likely to fare better if treated with a targeted therapy than with traditional chemotherapy, report Dana-Farber Cancer Institute researchers and a team of international collaborators.
In a trial involving patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumor cells harbored an abnormal ALK gene, those who received the oral drug crizotinib, which acts directly on ALK, went a median time of 7.7 months before their disease began to worsen, compared to 3 ...
New drug improves progression-free survival, shrinks tumors in rare cancer for first time
2013-06-01
CHICAGO, JUNE 1, 2013 — The experimental drug selumetinib is the first targeted therapy to demonstrate significant clinical benefit for patients with metastatic uveal melanoma, according to new Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center research presented on Saturday, June 1, at the 49th annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
The findings are potentially practice-changing for a historically "untreatable disease." Though uveal melanoma is rare — there are only 2,500 cases diagnosed in the United States each year — about half of patients will develop ...
No increased risk of infection for long-term sex partners of people with HPV-related oral cancers
2013-06-01
Spouses and long-term partners of patients with mouth and throat cancers related to infection with the human papilloma virus (HPV) appear to have no increased prevalence of oral HPV infections, according to results of a multicenter, pilot study led by Johns Hopkins investigators. The study's results suggest that long-term couples need not change their sexual practices, say the scientists.
"While we can't guarantee that the partners of patients will not develop oral HPV infections or cancers, we can reassure them that our study found they had no increased prevalence of ...
Acidifying oceans could spell trouble for squid
2013-06-01
Acidifying oceans could dramatically impact the world's squid species, according to a new study led by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) researchers and soon to be published in the journal PLOS ONE. Because squid are both ecologically and commercially important, that impact may have far-reaching effects on the ocean environment and coastal economies, the researchers report.
"Squid are at the center of the ocean ecosystem—nearly all animals are eating or eaten by squid," says WHOI biologist T. Aran Mooney, a co-author of the study. "So if anything happens to ...
