Sarasota Injury Law Firm Fights for Environment

Sarasota personal injury law firm, Luhrsen Law Group has joined an environmental battle with Manatee County developers and Board of Commissioners.

2013-06-26
SARASOTA, FL, June 26, 2013 (Press-News.org) Sarasota personal injury law firm, Luhrsen Law Group has joined an environmental battle with Manatee County developers and Board of Commissioners. Firm Administrator, Matt Bower, is a life-long resident of Bradenton and a fishing guide. Recently, a proposed text amendment has come before the Manatee County Board of Commissioners that would allow the developers and investors of Long Bar Pointe to dredge an important piece of north Sarasota Bay and cutout at least 40 acres of mangroves along its vital shoreline. The amendment would also apply to many locations around Manatee County.

Luhrsen Law Group has always been involved in public policy, with Jeff Luhrsen and Matt Bower acting as volunteer lobbyists for the Sarasota Coalition on Substance Abuse and the Manatee County Substance Abuse Coalition.

Matt Bower recently took an afternoon off work to speak before the commissioners. Although Tropical Storm Andrea postponed the vote, the Commissioners heard from the audience and some residents. Matt Bower's speech was received with a round of applause from the entire room. Knowing this issue was too important to sit on the sidelines, Luhrsen Law Group gave its Firm Administrator two thumbs up to take action and do what he thought was right.

As of June 24th, over 500 petitions have been signed and Save the Manatee County Shoreline is reaching 500 followers after only a few days online. Matt says that it might seem weird to many that a plaintiff's injury firm would get involved in an environmental issue, but Matt explains that the firm has been involved in politics for years. This issue is just closer to home and means a great deal more. "What law firm, let alone an injury law firm, would give someone such leeway? Pretty cool stuff, right?" says Bower.

If you want to help make a difference, you can contact Matt Bower at MJB@luhrsen.com or find his facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SaveTheManateeCountyShoreline

Announcing the Launch of CollegeDebtSolution.com - a Company Specializing in Student Loan Assistance

2013-06-26
The most difficult hurdle to getting a higher education today has nothing to do with studying, taking tests or writing papers. The biggest challenge of gaining the level of education needed to succeed is actually paying for it once you graduate! Student loan debt in the United States now totals $1 trillion. To put that amount into perspective, it eclipses the total amount of credit card debt owed by all American citizens combined. To make matters worse, the Senate failed to advance measures that would keep interest rates from doubling on July 1st, 2013. As students ...

From minute to massive -- mammal size evolution explained

2013-06-25
Scientists have added another piece to the evolutionary puzzle to explain why certain mammal families evolved to be very large, while others remained tiny. In research published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, an international group of scientists including Monash University's Dr Alistair Evans proposed a new theory explaining the diversity of mammal sizes - from the Etruscan shrew which weighs around two grams, to the blue whale which clocks in at almost 200 tonnes. Surprisingly, baby weight relative to adult body mass is key. Dr Evans, of the Monash School of ...
