Core Vitality Redefines Core Training in South Jersey
2010-11-05
MOORESTOWN, NJ, November 05, 2010 (Press-News.org) Core Vitality, a combination Pilates, CoreAlignTM, and core training center opened its doors in Moorestown, NJ on October 1, 2010. Core Vitality offers Pilates based Physical Therapy. Core Vitality, located in Moorestown Commons, is proud to be the first CoreAlignTM facility in the Delaware Valley. With the CoreAlignTM, core training is taken to a whole new level. While challenging the deep abdominal, pelvic, spinal, and shoulder stabilizers, workouts on the CoreAlignTM will also challenge the strength of the upper and lower body. Furthermore, with most exercises performed in an upright position, the CoreAlignTM allows participants to make rapid improvements in posture, balance and functional movement. This, in turn, leads to improved sport performance and daily function. CoreAlignTM group fitness classes will also improve muscular endurance and provide a great anaerobic workout by incorporating bursts of short duration and high intensity drills.

In addition to CoreAlign training, Core Vitality also offers instruction in Pilates. Pilates is an exercise system that focuses on proper body alignment and movement patterns to improve overall strength (with focus on the core), flexibility, and efficiency of movement. Core Vitality offers a variety of group Pilates mat and equipment classes using the reformer, tower and Exo chair. Core Vitality also offers equipment combo classes which incorporate work on all pieces of Pilates equipment as well as the CoreAlign . The equipment combo classes provide a unique circuit challenge for the entire body with focus on core strength and stability throughout all of the exercises. Each class is slightly different so participants never get bored and new muscles are constantly challenged.

"My goal with Core Vitality's fitness programs is to provide the community with safe, effective, unique and interesting sessions that will meet each client's individual fitness goals and will also train the foundations of core strength and stability to improve function and prevent injury," stated Meghan Bubnis, PT, DPT, the owner and director of Core Vitality.

2010-11-05
Study Finds Teens Frustrated by Lack of Diagnosis A recent British study found that young cancer patients often feel frustrated that physicians do not take their symptoms seriously and consider cancer as a possible diagnosis. The study looked at the cases of 24 cancer patients between the ages of 16 and 24 years old. It took between eight weeks and 11 years to diagnose each case of cancer. The patients told researchers that they believed that cancer was ruled out as a possibility based on their age alone. Symptoms and Rarity of Disease Hinder Cancer Diagnosis One ...

A Primer on California Child Custody Law

2010-11-05
When a husband and wife divorce or an unmarried couple chooses to go their separate ways, there are countless decisions to be made. Will one party stay in the home or should it be sold? Where will the pets live? Who gets the furniture? How will investment account monies be divided? Are there business interests that need to be addressed? Which vehicle goes to which party? Decisions about property the couple acquired during their time together may be difficult, but they pale in comparison to those involving the couple's children. If a split is amicable, the couple may ...

New Jersey Courts Rule on Required Arbitration Agreements for Patients

2010-11-05
New Jersey nursing home residents and medical patients may see less access to the courts for negligence claims after two recent court decisions. A recent appellate court decision ruled that residents can be required to arbitrate their claims against a nursing home despite a state law to the contrary. Another case held that, under certain circumstances, doctor-patient arbitration agreements are enforceable. Federal Law As early as 1925, Congress began to favor arbitration as an alternative forum to the courtroom for resolving disputes by passing the Federal Arbitration ...

Impaired Driving Charges and Retrograde Analysis

2010-11-05
When Time is an Element of a Crime Unlike some crimes, impaired driving charges like DUI and drugged driving have an element of timing that any prosecutor must prove to obtain a conviction against an alleged drunk driver. Under Pennsylvania's DUI statute, title 75 section 3802(a), subdivision (1), "general impairment" is defined as driving, operating or controlling a vehicle "after imbibing a sufficient amount of alcohol such that the individual is rendered incapable of safely driving...". An impaired driver can also be convicted under the "general impairment" subdivision ...

Is Tort Reform Really the Solution to High Health Care Costs?

2010-11-05
According to studies published in the most recent edition of the health care industry journal Health Affairs, medical liability costs (i.e., those spent in defense of, or to prevent, medical malpractice actions) is a mere 2.4 percent of America's overall health care budget. These studies, performed by a joint group of researchers, attorneys and doctors, present conclusions that directly contradict the popular view that medical malpractice/negligence lawsuits are the leading cause of the so-called "health care crisis." Important findings of the study include: - So-called ...

New IRS Rules for Tax Preparers

2010-11-05
The IRS has issued new rules amending section 1-6109-2, requiring paid tax preparers to be registered with the IRS. The final regulations provide that for tax returns or refund claims filed after December 31, 2010, tax return preparers must obtain and use a preparer tax identification number (PTIN), rather than a social security number (SSN), as the identifying number to be included with the tax return preparer's signature on a tax return or claim for refund. For some practitioners, a significant change created by this regulation is the requirement that the term "tax ...
