Bilingualism and its positive effects on the learning of children

Bilingual education is lately gaining more interest from people. More parents are looking at the possibility of having their children learn more than the local language to equip them further.

2010-11-12
PARIS, FRANCE, November 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) Why exactly is bilingual education beneficial to children? Most Americans grew up knowing one language alone and that is English. And this system seems to have worked just fine. Other English - speaking nations are the same. So, why the sudden change of wanting American children learn other language apart from the English language? And why are the other nations teaching their children to learn other language, especially English?
Some people even go out of their way to be able to learn other language. And these are no longer children, most are in their tertiary level of education. Koreans travel to the Philippines to learn English. Some people try to learn Mandarin and Japanese. Some Japanese executives and businessmen hire online tutors to teach them English? So will it really be good for children to learn other language apart from that of their own?
I would say yes. It's a big yes because we no longer leave in a bordered world. Globalization opened up the world as if it's a small marketplace where everyone is more or less given equal opportunity to play in the global market. But even before our children actually reach that point of having them talk about business matters it is best to start equipping them while they are still young.
Children have a wider capacity to learn new things. Their minds are still flexible that they can accept and learn more facts than those who are way ahead of them like the business people, and even those who are already in their teens. Once you start teaching them another language aside from the local language, they will be able to learn both languages better than if they were asked to learn one after another.
Learning institutions who offer _a href="http://www.bilingualschoolparis.com"_bilingual education_/a_ for children are equipped to teach children more than one language. They already have certain systems in place that will cater to such training. Most institutions do not only use their curriculum to teach two languages but they also have different activities aside from their usual language classes to facilitate learning of these languages.
If you really desire your children to be fully equipped in terms of communicating in more than one language, then you should start doing so early in their lives. They will be able to learn it faster and they will even be equipped to learn other languages later on. Their minds will be open to new learning and discovering another new language will be any easy thing for them.
Search for the best bilingual education provider in your place. You will surely be able to find one. If you don't know of any institution yet, try the internet and you'll surely find the information that you need. Teach your _a href="http://www.bilingualschoolparis.com"_child bilingualism_/a_ in through a bilingual education institution and you'll never go wrong.

The Bilingual International School of Paris (BISP) is a private, independent and non-denominational school for children ages 3 to 11. BISP is offering a pre-school and elementary school dual language immersion program aligned with the English and French national curriculum frameworks.
