CHENNAI, INDIA, November 13, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Chennai Music and Dance Festival 2010 is held to honour and pay respect to the Hindu gods and will feature a variety of musical styles to celebrate the occasion.
The festival features performances at locations all around the city so that members of the community are never far away from the action. Many temples and scared sites hold events as it is a religious ceremony as well as a time to celebrate with friends and family.
Visitors to the city can also see concerts at many of the theatres and auditoriums which will be featuring some of the most talented artists and musicians from all over India. The event sees popular renditions of carnatic music which Chennai and southern India is most famous for. The music focuses on vocal performances and many singers will be taking to the stage to entertain audiences.
Over 2000 people will be performing at the event in more than 300 concerts which will combine both solo performances with elaborate and well choreographed group acts.
