GARLAND, TX, March 26, 2014 (Press-News.org) This year was the most watched Oscars in 10 years, which means many people might have seen red carpet worthy smiles that sparkled and impressed. Patients who have always wanted a smile that sparkles and impresses those around them, Dr. John Burnett in Garland offers veneers! There is no reason why patients should have to put up with or deal with gaps in their teeth or teeth that are stained, badly shaped or crooked. Today, placing a veneer on top of the front teeth can correct natural blemished or injuries to help many patients achieve a beautiful smile again.
"The translucent ceramic quality of today's veneers provides a more natural look than what has been available in the past. Regardless of what causes unattractive teeth, dental veneers may solve most or even all of your cosmetic dental issues and my dental office is available to help you take that next step," said Dr. John Burnett of his family dentistry office in Garland.
Getting dental veneers requires multiple visits to make and apply the veneers. One tooth or many teeth can simultaneously undergo the veneering process. During the tooth preparation visit with Dr. Burnett, a Garland general dentist, the teeth are lightly buffed to allow for the small-added thickness of the veneer. Usually, about a half a millimeter of the tooth is removed, which may require a local anesthetic. At this visit, a mold is taken of the teeth and sent to the laboratory for fabrication of the veneers for Garland, TX patients.
The final visit is when the veneers are bonded to the tooth surface with water or glycerin to check their fit and get a sense of the shade or color needed. While the veneers are resting on the teeth, they can be adjusted with various shades of bonding materials to match the color of the patient's teeth. To apply, the tooth is cleansed with specific chemicals to achieve a bond. Once the special cement is placed between the veneer and tooth, a visible light beam, or laser, causes a catalyst to be released, hardening the cement.
"It is important to brush and floss your teeth daily to properly maintain your veneers," stated Dr. John Burnett about after care of veneers for Garland residents. "After one or two weeks, you will return for a follow-up appointment. While porcelain veneers are reasonable facismiles of natural teeth, they are not perfect replacements, which is why proper care is essential in the maintenance."
Patients who have undesirable defects in their smile should contact Garland general dentist, Dr. John Burnett, for further consultation on if veneers are an appropriate solution for their smile restoration. Almost everyone knows what it feels like when they're too tired to drive. The feeling of being unable to keep your eyes open and concentrate on the road can be scary, yet many Americans risk drowsy driving every day. Our busy lifestyles have contributed in part to the thousands of fatigue-related accidents in the U.S. each year. Perhaps we're so used to getting through the day sleep-deprived that we may not think being a little sleepy is such a bit deal.
However, the Centers for Disease Control say that over a third of all fatal accidents are caused by tired drivers. ...
Illinois company fined after noncompliance with lead safety precautions
2014-03-26
Employees trust that their employers are complying with appropriate and applicable safety regulations and standards. By nature, some jobs are more dangerous than others. However, this does not excuse the need for safety prevention and compliance. In some industries, such as the lead paint industry, employers should support employees with important safeguards, which can help health hazards. Unfortunately, employers sometimes fail to do so.
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has fined an Illinois company that specializes ...
Alimony in a New Jersey divorce, and the changes that could be coming
2014-03-26
Marriage is an economic as well as a social relationship. Sometimes, when a marriage ends in divorce, one former partner is required to make payments to the other. These payments, known as alimony or spousal support, help to balance the standard of living enjoyed by the parties after divorce.
In New Jersey, there are a number of different types of alimony and a number of factors that go into setting any eventual alimony award. Changes may soon be coming to New Jersey's framework for determining alimony, however, as advocacy groups increasingly call for reform.

Divorce is almost always a difficult decision, with most people deciding to end the marriage as a last option. 2014-03-26
Teenage drivers are a cause for concern on the road for many reasons: they lack the experience of older motorists and are more likely to engage in risky behaviors while behind the wheel. According to a recent survey conducted by Students Against Destructive Decisions and Liberty Mutual Insurance, 96 percent of all teenage drivers are aware that using their cellphone while behind the wheel is a distraction. In addition, over ...
