BALTIMORE, MD, March 29, 2014 (Press-News.org) Sheppard Pratt Health System is pleased to announce that Maureen McGuire, LCSW-C, has been appointed the new Director of Jefferson School, a licensed residential treatment center and special education school that serves more than 80 children and adolescents ages 12 through 21, with emotional and learning disabilities, in southern Frederick County, Maryland. McGuire previously served as Sheppard Pratt's Mann Residential Programs Clinical Director and Therapeutic Services Director in Baltimore.
"Maureen McGuire's dedication and deep knowledge of the Health System supports our decision to appoint her the new Director of Jefferson School," said Tom Graham, Director of Residential Programs for Sheppard Pratt Health System. "We are excited for her leadership of this program, which specializes in residential treatment and therapeutic education, as well as assistance with the transition from school to work."
McGuire is a graduate of the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Social Work and holds an Advanced Clinical Supervision Certificate from Smith College School of Social Work. In addition to supervising Smith College's social work interns since 1998, McGuire has also held roles in the Board of Child Care, the Family Counseling Center of Baltimore, Inc., Taylor Manor Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
