LOS ANGLES, CA, April 15, 2014 (Press-News.org) Internationally acclaimed swimwear brand La Isla is pledging 50% of the proceeds from select merchandise purchased on Earth Day to Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society.
The mission of the Ocean Futures Society (www.oceanfutures.org) is to inspire and educate people to act responsibly for the ocean's protection. The items that will benefit the organization are from La Isla's newest line, a vibrant array of immaculately crafted suits that reflect La Isla's fusion of Latin and American roots, but also its inspiration drawn from the water. The items include a t-shirt and all "deep sea jelly" printed swimsuits.
La Isla, available for retail on Amber Valletta's website Master & Muse (www.masterandmuse.com), will be featured alongside Valletta on the E channel for Earth Day.
Says La Isla founder Enrique Sanchez-Rivera, "I have always admired the Ocean Futures Society's commitment to the health of our planet's oceans, and I am proud to announce La Isla's support of their efforts."
Born in a bedroom, La Isla has outgrown its physical origins but retained every ounce of its intimacy. Its growth into one of the most recognizable names in swimwear has been entirely organic. The brand is known worldwide for the perfect fit, stunning fabrics and unique hand embroidery of its swimwear and apparel.
Over the years, La Isla has been featured and recognized in publications like VOGUE, Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrated Portfolio (hardcover book), InStyle, Marie Claire, Seventeen, Foam, Surfing Magazine, Transworld Surf, Bazaar, Zink! and in other media such as The David Letterman Show and on E! Entertainment Channel.
La Isla's manufacturing facility is in Medellin, Colombia, where all of the employees are locals and most are head-of-household women. The facility operates using as much natural light as possible, and uses digital printing for many t-shirts to conserve natural resources. And to support the local economy, all fabrics comprising La Isla's 2014 collection will be sourced from Colombia.
La Isla supports many charitable efforts, and has formed partnerships throughout the years with organizations like Children of the Americas and Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society. Learn more about La Isla's partnerships here.
