Facades being one of the hottest topics in the world of tall constructions, Arup's Associate Director, Russell Cole will discuss different strategies implemented in skyscrapers of Singapore, all achieving high sustainability ratings and will draw a comparison with the world largest sun responsive facade shades adopted for Al Bahr Towers, Abu Dhabi. Representing the organization, the Global Façade and Architectural Design Leader, Mikkel Kragh will talk about new trends and innovations in design, performance and sustainability of facades for skyscrapers.
Building tall comes with its own sets of challenges. Sharing his side of the story, Bart Leclercq - Head of Structures Design, WSP Middle East will talk about the challenge of constructing the tallest building in the Europe, The Shard in London on a complicated existing foundation and with the clever use of the cranes.
With fire break outs in Dubai lately being in news, the Summit will also focus on safety from fire and measures to be taken while constructing superstructures including evacuation using elevators, firefighting access and structural fire protection.
