Turn apps into cash - openMIC takes the mobile developers' barcamp to Oxford

Mobile developer network hosting Oxford barcamp on 2nd December with speakers from Google, IBM, Nokia, Calvium & Everything Everywhere.

READING, ENGLAND, November 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) openMIC, the UK's leading independent mobile developer network, is coming to The Jam Factory in Oxford, on Thursday, December 2nd.

"Over 100 mobile developers from across the UK are expected to converge on Oxford for this barcamp session which will focus on the future of apps and how developers can make money from them," said Chris Book who heads-up the openMIC network. "Mobile is the fastest evolving device on Earth - the iPhone has created a platform specific market while mobile operators are trying to demolish their walled gardens to open their networks to off portal commerce. OpenMIC is the place to come and explore the business potential of these developments."

The free to attend, one-day event will kick off with presentations by Reto Meier, Android Developer Advocate, Google, Dale Lane, Emerging Technology, IBM R&D Tom Melamed, Calvium, Mark Watts-Jones, Head of Product Marketing, Everything Everywhere and Greg Mertens, Nokia
