Events industry returns to confidence as budgets rise
Budgets for event marketing are likely to increase in the next 12 months, according to the latest industry research, which EMS Managing Director Keith Austin has hailed as reflecting his own roadshow promotions company's upswing in business in 2010.
ELLESMERE PORT, ENGLAND, August 29, 2010
The optimistic news comes from the latest British Meetings & Events Industry Survey (BMEIS) of 600 leading event marketing organisers in the corporate and association sectors. It reveals there will be a net increase in spending on events in 2010-11 - an about-turn compared with last year, when 10 per cent of budgets were cut. For the next 12 months, 18 per cent of event organisers expected to have bigger budgets to spend.Sally Greenhill of The Right Solutions, who carried out the research, commented: "This is clearly positive news. It will be very welcome for suppliers after a couple of very difficult and uncertain years."
Keith Austin said: "This is great news indeed and echoes our experience here at Event Marketing Solutions, where we have seen a return in confidence to the sector this year. EMS has gone from strength to strength in 2010. We've continued to recruit high-calibre people, win valuable business and build on existing contracts."
