Santa Claus Picks 71-Year-Old Grandfather to Create
2010-12-08
MARIETTA, GA, December 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) Santa Claus picks 71-year-old illustrator, David Brewer, and 61-year-old writer, Bruce Levitt, to create the website that finally reveals The Secret of Santa's Great Sleigh. Said Santa Claus, "I want everyone to know the amazing story of how the elves came to my rescue and basically saved Christmas. It's just too big to keep secret any longer. And my old friends, Dave and Bruce, have 132 Christmases between them, so who better to help me?"

GreatSleigh.com tells the entertaining story that began one Christmas Eve many years ago. Santa Claus had always fit all the toys in his little red sleigh at one time. But for the first time, there were too many toys to fit. There were simply too many good little girls and boys. That was a good problem to have, so Santa Claus and the reindeer didn't mind making an extra trip back to the North Pole to pick up a second load of toys.

But as the number of good little girls and boys kept growing, it wasn't long before two trips weren't enough. So Santa and the reindeer made three trips. Then four trips. Then five. Then 25. Then 500. And then the reindeer ran out of gas! Santa Claus realized that unless he found a solution, he wouldn't be able to deliver all the toys. So he asked the elves to come up with a big idea.

They built a huge great sleigh that could carry every toy the Toy Workshop could ever make. It wasn't just big. It was GIGANTICALLY HUMONGOUSLY COLOSSALLY BIG. Santa Claus still makes the toy deliveries in the little red sleigh, but whenever he needs another load, he can just zip right up to the Great Sleigh, which is always flying overhead. The Toy Deck of the Great Sleigh is an elfin masterpiece, connecting directly to the Naughty or Nice List, so it loads exactly the right toy for each good little girl and boy.

David Brewer and Bruce Levitt are both grandfathers and they have been a creative team for almost 30 years. They helped Santa Claus create his first website, Claus.com, back in the mid-1990's. They haven't been associated with Claus.com for many years and wanted to work with Santa Claus again, so when he called about The Secret of Santa's Great Sleigh, they jumped at the opportunity.

GreatSleigh.com is free to enjoy, it's child safe, and it's narrated, so be sure to turn on your speakers.

UNC-led team tests commonly used antibodies

2010-12-07
If a strand of your DNA was stretched out completely, it would be more than six feet long. It's hard to imagine that it can fit inside the nucleus of one of your cells, but that's exactly how it works. For much of the last century, scientists have been busy figuring out how DNA is packaged in cells, and have found strong indications that the packaging is integral to how DNA works. The packaging – comprised mostly of an amino acid molecule called a histone – influences the on and off switches of different genes that regulate cellular function and play a role in human ...
