ORLANDO, FL, December 09, 2010 (Press-News.org) Fat grafting is one of the exciting frontiers of plastic surgery, allowing men and women to take fat from areas where it is undesirable and use it to sculpt areas where they desire greater volume, such as the breast, buttocks, face, and hands. Now Orlando plastic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Hartog is joining a small number of surgeons in the United States and worldwide that are using an exciting new technique that uses the regenerative cells common in fat to enhance the effectiveness of fat grafting.
The technique enhances the normal fat graft with a concentrated dose of adipose-derived regenerative cells (ADRC) that encourage healing, including the growth of new blood vessels vital to the survival of the grafted fat. The ADRCs are concentrated using the Cytori Stem Source system. Studies show that ADRC enriched fat grafts have the potential to improve the survival of fat grafts by up to 50%
Dr. Hartog and his staff are very excited to be one of a select group of surgeons using the technology: "The potential of Adipose Derived Regenerative Cells as well as other cell based therapies to enhance fat grafting and to provide therapies for other difficult to treat medical conditions is very exciting."
ADRC-enhanced fat grafts can be used for:
- Breast enhancement
- Breast reconstruction
- Facial rejuvenation
- Hand rejuvenation

Commercial Vehicle Accidents Continue to Take Lives in Colorado
2010-12-09
Tragically, collisions between semi-trucks (commonly called big rigs, tractor-trailers, semis or 18-wheelers) and passenger vehicles happen every day. When a car or pickup truck meets up with a fully loaded commercial behemoth, the results are truly unfortunate -- 78 percent of the time, one or more of the occupants of the smaller vehicle is killed.
The multi-terrained state of Colorado is uniquely situated to create more than its fair share of these accidents. Mountains, windy plains, icy roads, sand storms (sometimes called "brownouts" or "brown blizzards"), snowstorms, ...

While drunk driving has declined across the country, a new trend has risen -- drugged driving. Now, many drivers are taking to the road after ingesting prescription narcotics that impair driving ...

Two Is Enough? Complex Family Structures, New Parenting Designations
2010-12-09
The concept of two parents per child is deeply embedded in our legal system. But with relatively recent social developments such as domestic partnerships and scientific breakthroughs like assisted reproduction, children more frequently enjoy a parental relationship with people who have no legal recognition of their role.
One increasingly common scenario is a same-sex couple who enlists a surrogate mother or sperm donor to help them become parents. If that couple chooses a trusted friend to help them create a child, they may also invite and encourage that person's ongoing ...
