LONDON, ENGLAND, December 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) London West End-based firm of SRLV (Sedley Richard Laurence Voulters) Chartered Accountants and Business Consultants announced today they have moved to new and larger premises in Mayfair's New Bond Street. The firm had been successfully operating from premises at their nearby number 1 Conduit Street offices for almost 10 years, providing a wide range of clients with accountancy services, tax planning and a wealth of other vital business support services. The move was a product of expansion and will now unite 9 partners and 76 professional and administrative staff in one single open plan floor.
SRLV attributed its success and expansion to valuing partnership and excellent communications with all its clients. The firm offers a very comprehensive range of accounting, tax and associated business support services to a diverse range of owner managed businesses, together with larger corporate clients. Over 30% of the firms activities operate to support clients working within the entertainment sector, including some of the most well known names in the UK today. SRLV's Marc Voulters explained the company's strategy has not changed over the years:
"We started as a two partner firm in the 1980s, and over the years we have grown to the stage where there are now nine partners and we are a top 70 firm. We have departments dedicated to Business Consulting, Corporate Finance, Audit and Accountancy, Tax Planning, Compliance Services, Financial Services and Human Resources. We also offer specialist services for those in the Music Industry, who account for a number of our clients. Then there is our International sector, Premier International Associates, which we founded in 1999 to meet the needs of clients looking to trade safely in overseas markets. Throughout the years we've essentially prioritised the same agenda within every service or department - we work in close partnership with our clients to promote every aspect of their business growth."
SRLV work with clients within a diverse range of industries including music and entertainment, restaurants, hotels and travel, property and construction, IT, telecoms, media & design, medical and healthcare, professional services, wholesalers, retail and not-for-profit organisations. With the firm saying a fond farewell to its former offices in Conduit Street, it joins a prestigious roll call of world famous retailers and businesses along Mayfair's famous New Bond Street. The street was founded in the 1700's and has enjoyed a long reputation for providing services to an exclusive and international clientele.
The new offices are near to good quality car parking facilities and for those who prefer to avoid traffic there is a choice of Bond Street or Oxford Circus tube stations within a very short walking distance. London City Airport can be easily reached on the Docklands Light Railway by simply taking the underground's Central Line from Bond Street or Oxford Circus stations to connect to the DLR at Bank. There is also the London City Shuttle Service operating between the airport and central London, and again, ample secure parking near SRLV's offices for private vehicles.

High Failure Rate Leads to DePuy Hip Implant Recall
2010-12-15
According to The New York Times, nearly 250,000 hip replacement surgeries are performed in the United States every year. In about one-third of those cases, the devices used are "metal-on-metal" implants, where the ball and socket joints of the implants are made of metals like chromium and cobalt.
The Times report notes that these implants, designed to last up to 15 years, have been failing at an alarming rate. In some cases, the devices need to be replaced after only a couple of years.
While the wear and tear associated with the metal can lead to problems, specifically ...

Enforcing Support Judgments Across State Lines
2010-12-15
One of the most complex and confusing areas of law is the authority of a court to act on people outside its jurisdiction. A core element of jurisdiction is contact. For a court to have jurisdiction over a person, the person must have some "contact" with the court.
This means that generally, for an Illinois court to have jurisdiction, you either must live in Illinois or have some transaction that occurs in Illinois. For example, if you are from Indiana and you drive across the border and have a traffic accident, an Illinois court obtains jurisdiction based on that accident. ...
