Cosmetic Surgery Practice in Detroit Seeing More Revision Rhinoplasty

Dr. William Vasileff, a board-certified plastic surgeon with special experience in facial cosmetic procedures, is seeing a rise in the number of people who want to revise the nose surgery results they received from another practice.

2011-01-01
BIRMINGHAM, MI, January 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. William Vasileff (http://www.drvasileff.com) is seeing a rise in the number of people who experienced an undesirable outcome from nose surgery and are now seeking help at his cosmetic surgery practice serving Detroit to fix an uncorrected problem.

It's estimated that about 15 percent of nose surgeries, also known as rhinoplasties, require revision, usually to correct a specific cosmetic issue such as a crooked tip or a functional issue like difficulty breathing.

"Most people are happy with the results of their rhinoplasty, but I'm seeing many new patients who are dissatisfied with their previous surgery and want to fix an uncorrected problem," says Dr. Vasileff. "The common sentiment is that their surgery went too far or not far enough."

Although the problem may not be the fault of the original surgeon, Dr. Vasileff stresses the importance of choosing a qualified plastic surgeon for Detroit rhinoplasty. The surgeon must take the time to understand a patient's goals and perform a full examination to evaluate skin, cartilage strength and bone structure.

"Rhinoplasty is not easy to perform," adds Dr. Vasileff. "Creating an aesthetically pleasing nose to match your face is very much like sculpting so you need to choose a doctor who has a sophisticated understanding of nasal structure and surgical technique."

Dr. Vasileff urges people considering a revision rhinoplasty to select a doctor who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), the organization that certifies plastic surgeons. When a surgeon says that he or she is "board certified," it does not necessarily mean ABPS-certified, so be sure to check. And, even then, it's important to ask about the surgeon's training, hospital privileges and professional memberships.

For people who are unhappy with the results of their nose surgery, Dr. Vasileff advises waiting at least one year before considering a revision procedure. This allows ample time for nasal swelling to subside and for scar tissue to soften so the surgeon can correct the problem.

Men and women seeking cosmetic surgery trust Dr. Vasileff. In the 30 years since he founded the Birmingham Institute of Plastic Surgery, he has become the physician of choice for people seeking natural-looking results. In addition to specializing in rhinoplasty, he offers a full range of cosmetic procedures for Detroit blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), face lift, liposuction and breast augmentation patients. The practice is located at 525 Southfield Road, at Brown Street, in Birmingham.

Dr. William Vasileff (http://www.drvasileff.com) is board certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. After graduating from the University of Michigan Medical School, he completed 5 years of advanced surgical training, a plastic surgery residency, and a fellowship in craniofacial surgery. Dr. Vasileff's practice, serving the community for 30 years, is devoted to providing compassionate patient care in a private, friendly atmosphere.

Timelines for Evolution and Creationism are Both True

2011-01-01
There has been a century's long, heated debate in regards to the theory of evolution and facts of science with the Judeo-Christian belief about the timeline of the creation of the universe. Observational measurements of the universe place its age around 15 billion years old while a literal reading of the first book of the Hebrew and Christian bibles place the age of the universe at only around 6 thousand years. Surprisingly, one of the most confirmed theories of physics, Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity, resolve this issue and allow both to be true. Simply put, ...
