PARIS, FRANCE, January 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) Hors Pistes 2011 is just around the corner and many cinema enthusiasts will no doubt be considering booking a stay at the fine hotels Paris has to offer so they can enjoy the acclaimed festival.
Running from January 21st to February 6th, the cycle of films, performances and other forms of artistic expression at the Centre Pompidou is guaranteed to intrigue and provoke thoughts in the minds of attendees.
This year's festival will see Andrea Crews take on the role of artist-in-residence, while Basque chef Inaki Aizpitarte will play a key role in a new focus for the occasion - gastronomy.
The cook spends most of his time at his restaurant Le Chateaubriand - voted 40th best eatery in the world by one London publication - and his expertise is likely to be appreciated by attendees from nearby accommodation such as the Hotel Montpellier Paris.
"Hors Pistes, an important cultural event created in 2006, focuses on the new ways of using contemporary images and shows the breaks and shifts which emerge in the traditional forms of film and narrative," explained the organisers.
Passes to enter the Centre Pompidou cost EUR12 (GBP10.25) and allow tourists to see the museum's permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as check out its panoramic viewing point.
Admission to the cinema at the complex costs EUR6, with visitors able to purchase tickets in advance online or from the box office on the day.
For more information on this event, visit the Centre Pompidou website or contact the venue on +33 1 44 78 12 33.
