There have been countless audio formats released over the last few decades. From eight tracks to cassette tapes, compact discs to mp3s, audiophiles would have managed to buy their entire record collection an estimated average of four times if they had loyally decided to update their music collection every time a new format is released on the market. But through the years, no matter what leaps and bounds technology has managed to achieve when it comes to music, jazz vinyl and rock vinyl records still manage to keep strong sales amongst collectors and music enthusiasts alike.
The popularity of jazz vinyl and rock vinyl records may seem like a popular collector's item amongst older people, but statistics have shown that younger generations have been acquiring a taste for the surviving art of vinyl collecting.
"I call myself an aural archeologist," says local club record spinner, DJ Chameleon, who spends his afternoons literally digging up old material from jazz vinyl and rock vinyl outlets all over the country. He then samples tracks from oldest classics in some of the freshest and most creative mixes and mash-ups in the underground hip hop club scene. It's this fresh take on vintage music that has managed to keep the genre alive and in the minds of younger generations. "There is something innately timeless and astounding about jazz vinyl and rock vinyl records," DJ Chameleon adds. "It's as if you're listening to a piece of history when you're running it through your record player."
Classic jazz vinyl and rock vinyl records are still hot items in online trading and auction sites such as Ebay. Online stores such as Soundstage Direct, LLC, located in Doylestown Pennyvania, with the largest selection of new releases and vinyl reissues online, have been providing the hardest to find jazz vinyl and rock vinyl records to customers all over the country.

Designers, artists and collectors are quick to spend a hefty amount of money in acquiring rare vinyl records that been thought to be lost in time.
