The New School of Monmouth County School Hosts Open House March 5th in Holmdel NJ

The New School of Monmouth County (www.the-new-school.com) in Holmdel NJ, welcomes you to its Open House on Saturday, March 5th from 10 a.m. to 2.p.m.

2011-03-03
MORGANVILLE, NJ, March 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) The New School of Monmouth County (www.the-new-school.com) is hosting its informational Open House for parents of children aged 5-13 on Saturday, March 5th from 10 am to 2pm. Parents and children are welcome to tour the school, speak with Dr. Susan Chilvers, Director, as well as the school's teachers. Parents and currently enrolled children will also be in attendance to answer questions.

It seems that every day brings new tales about our school systems: Budget woes, children failing or dropping out, the teachers' unions fighting with local administrators. What is being lost in all this contention is the very reason that schools, unions, and administrators exist: our children.

Take heart! There is a school that still puts children first. The New School of Monmouth County values the individual needs of your child over the current push for conformity that is so prevalent in our public schools. If you are a parent of a pre-school child who is about to enter kindergarten, you owe it to yourself to visit this school. If you are the parent of a child currently struggling through the day in public school, you owe it to them to visit The New School.

The New School is nestled in the heart of Holmdel and is one of New Jersey's best-kept secrets, having successfully educated scores of children since 1969.

At The New School of Monmouth County small, multi-aged classrooms provide an intimate setting where students receive individualized attention from the teacher, learn from each other, are responsible for each other, and gain a new perspective of what it means to belong to a group larger than just one's peers.

Leadership skills and empathy are learned from teaching younger children, and self-confidence develops from sharing with older students. Cooperation - an invaluable asset in today's business world - is fostered from the moment the children start their education at The New School.

The school utilizes project-based learning which takes into consideration the input of students. With this approach, students reach a deeper understanding of the subjects being taught and are often found exploring these subjects - on their own accord - long after the school day has ended. Project-based learning allows the children to be self-motivated thinkers who will look beyond the basic material that is placed before them.

Children from The New School don't have any assigned homework, so they have time after school for family togetherness and to do what children do best-- which is play. This downtime is so often undervalued in our society, but provides young minds the opportunity to think freely, explore the world around them and use their imagination.

The New School is not only teaching, they are cultivating a life-long love of learning, inspiring intellectual curiosity, and nourishing an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

The New School of Monmouth County (www.the-new-school.com) welcomes you to its Open House on Saturday, March 5th from 10 a.m. to 2.p.m. Tour the school, speak to Director Susan Chilvers and socialize with currently enrolled families along with some graduates. For more information contact The New School at732-787-7900.
