PRAHAN, AUSTRALIA, March 25, 2011 (Press-News.org) Once upon a time, in the 30s, the Szalardi family opened their own leather business in Hungary specialising in luggage goods.
Zoli Szalardi completed his apprenticeship within the family business, and in 1971 decided to take the company to the wonderful coast of New Zealand.
As an expert, Zoli selects each hide before it is either hand or press cut. Not only is the quality of the luggage first class, but you can enjoy a lifetime restoration service to return it to its former glory.
Nowadays, 18 years on from the first piece designed for Rodd & Gunn, tradition still stands as Zoli continues to handcraft products with his family.
And leather only gets better with age.
Rodd & Gunn lives with tradition, mainly by distributing throughout New Zealand and Australia but also in the rest of the world. Its inspirations cross cultures and ages. From Italy, Germany, New Zealand, etc., the desings provide a typical outdoor style to the garments. And in the stores, you feel the original, fascinating and endless story of the Szalardi family. An amazing respect for tradition.
