The Human League are set to play in Berlin following the release of their new LP Credo.

2011-03-30
BERLIN, GERMANY, March 30, 2011 (Press-News.org) New wave pioneers The Human League will perform at Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin on Saturday April 23rd.

Following the release of their first studio album in ten years earlier this month, Philip Oakey's group are heading back out on to the road and have lined up several dates in Germany.

It is now 20 years since the band unveiled their landmark album Dare, which featured the singles Love Action (I Believe in Love) and Don't You Want Me, their biggest commercial hit.

However, they remain hugely popular with fans of the avant-garde synth-pop sound that emerged from Sheffield during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The Human League has essentially been a trio since 1987, with Oakey joined by vocalists Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley.

New album Credo, which was produced by fellow Sheffield-based act I Monster and contains the single Night People, has already been well-received by critics.

Oakey recently discussed the meaning of the title in a statement on the band's official website.

"The word 'credo' is about believing - it says everything about the record, which is exactly the record we would want to have made for release in 2011," he explained.

Fans heading to the Berlin gig can expect to hear plenty of tracks from the group's latest LP, as well as older favourites like Open Your Heart, Mirror Man and Human.

Tickets for the show are now available online, priced at EUR35.75 (GBP31.40). Doors are due to open at 20:00 local time and the music will begin one hour later.

Fans considering a stay in Berlin hotels can find a diverse range of city accommodation at LateRooms.com, which recommends the Maritim Hotel Berlin.

Seeing and experiencing violence makes aggression 'normal' for children

2011-03-30
Los Angeles, CA (March XX, 2011) The more children are exposed to violence, the more they think it's normal, according to a study in the current Social Psychological and Personality Science (published by SAGE). Unfortunately, the more they think violence is normal, the more likely they are to engage in aggression against others. Researchers asked nearly 800 children, from 8 to 12 years old, about whether they had witnessed violence at school, in their neighborhood, at home, or on TV. They also asked the participants if they had been a victim of violence with questions ...

CHICAGO, Ill. (March 29, 2011)—A new interventional radiology treatment that blocks blood supply to men's enlarged prostate glands shows comparable clinical results to transurethral resection of the prostate (or TURP), considered the gold standard (or most common) treatment. However, this minimally invasive treatment—prostatic artery embolization—has none of the risks associated with TURP, such as sexual dysfunction, urinary incontinence, blood loss and retrograde ejaculation, noted researchers at the Society of Interventional Radiology's 36th Annual Scientific Meeting ...
