SANTA CLARA, CA, April 07, 2011 (Press-News.org) ICE Web Filter officially launched its collaborative Internet management tool at last week's Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco. Their software demonstration featured a surprise photo shoot and ICE-themed gifts, which turned out to be a big hit with Internet entrepreneurs and enthusiasts. The annual event, held at the Moscone Center, focused on the digital economy, social cloud computing and the future of the web.
ICE Web Filter is the first platform to introduce 'social whitelisting,' a community-based filtering solution for educators and parents that helps make it easier to manage and compile kid-safe web spaces.
To celebrate their launch at Web 2.0, ICE Web Filter teamed up with open{subnet} to create a rare experience for attendees: a fully equipped photo-op complete with backdrops, professional lighting and a few special props to complete the experience. Company reps also distributed branded foam shields and swords to booth visitors.
The shields signified how ICE Web Filter helps protect kids from harmful and inappropriate content online by building their Internet immunity. open{subnet}'s foam swords represented the platform's power to 'cut out' all unwanted online content through social collaboration.
Together, the foam swords and shields inspired friendly duels in front of the booths' interchangeable backdrops, which featured battling robots. Even representatives from Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, OPENSRS and UberMedia joined in.
ICE Web Filter and open{subnet} held live demos at their booths to give visitors a closer look at their software and services. To learn more about ICE Web Filter, please visit http:/www.ICEwebfilter.com. For more information about open{subnet}'s services, please visit http//www.opensubnet.com.

About ICE Web Filter:
ICE Web Filter is an all-new approach to online safety and social content filtering. ICE is the first platform to introduce the concept of 'social whitelisting,' a tool used to filter online media by public consensus. ICE's approach is based on leading Internet safety research and is designed to reaffirm the role of the parent, encourage discussion and foster critical thinking about online media. It also incorporates real-time website access requests to administrators in the user's own words. For more information about ICE, please visit http://www.ICEwebfilter.com.
About open{subnet}:
open{subnet} is a web platform that lets users whitelist or remove virtually any online content and gather it into searchable spaces called 'subnets.' User input is aggregated in subnets for the generation of crowd-approved search results. This unique patent-pending tool lets users opt in and out of web content to create a personalized 'sub-Internet.' open{subnet}'s API has been applied in ICE Web Filter software to create a contained web environment for use in schools, homes and businesses.
