Research reveals that people with systemic lupus erythematosus, or lupus, know it is a life-long battle of illness. People with lupus are also at an increased risk for osteoporosis. What most people don't know is how the disease will treat them as they grow older. Studies suggest a rise in bone loss and fractures in people with lupus. In fact, women with lupus may be five times more likely to have a fracture from osteoporosis.
"We test people with lupus for free at our center in Manhattan Beach, and they know in 10 minutes, whether or not our NRCT works for them," explained Dr. Leuschen.
"I understand the pain that these people suffer, and if I can make one person's life better or more comfortable, it's the least that I can do she said. Dr. Leuschen knows first hand what it is like to be disabled or in pain. Dr. Leuschen was in a head-on crash in 2005 suffering back and neck herniations, face and chest contusions, hips and wrists injuries.
The accident motivated her to find a way to help her and others suffering from severe pain, depression and anxiety. Dr. Leuschen is helping people with symptoms associated with fibromyalgia, MS, lupus, severe chronic pain, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, stroke, and Parkinson's.
As a master trainer in Neurologic Relief Center Technique Dr. Leuschen teaches the technique to doctors from all over the country, hence helping thousands of disabled people across America.

2 new studies link hunting to lead in scavenger birds
2011-04-08
Two new UC Davis studies add scientific evidence that hunters' lead ammunition often finds its way into carrion-eating birds, such as eagles and turkey vultures.
These scavenger species often take advantage of animal remains left behind when a hunter cleans a kill or when a shot deer or wild pig escapes the hunter but dies later.
However, when the remains contain lead shot pellets or bullet fragments, the scavenger birds can develop lead poisoning, which can cause inability to fly, starvation, anemia, blindness, seizures and death.
