LONDON, ENGLAND, April 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) PruHealth has announced it is now offering intermediaries the ability to quote on the new products whilst on the road, with the launch of its new iPad quote app.
The new PruHealth iPad quote app was made available to download through iTunes and is open to all intermediaries with access to the PruHealth Adviser Zone.
The new app is the first of its kind in the industry, giving advisers the opportunity to quote and apply on individual policies and quote for SME groups of 3-9 members.
PruHealth worked directly with intermediaries during the development of the app to ensure it meets broker needs and is as simple as possible. The app provides intermediaries with three plan options, for both the Business Healthcare and Personal Healthcare quotes, which can then be used as a basis to tailor to the clients needs and as a means of comparison. The touch screen technology means a quote can be tailored in seconds, allowing intermediaries to present several options to their clients in a short space of time.
Within the health insurance quote tool there is also a hospital finder, product information on each module and details about the Vitality programme ensuring the app is a complete sales tool.
Dave Priestley sales director at PruHealth, said: "Investment in new technology is fundamental to our strategy and, working with intermediaries, we will continue to develop new industry leading solutions to enhance the experience of our customers and intermediaries. The launch of our iPad app is an exciting achievement and we look forward to working with intermediaries to develop this innovative new approach. Our sales support team and account managers all have iPads and are there to help intermediaries get the most from the app."
Having demonstrated the app at PruHealth's product launch events, many intermediaries have been anticipating its release on iTunes.
Mike Hudson from Health Connections Direct said: "The launch of the new iPad quote app from PruHealth is a very exciting development particularly for intermediaries like ourselves who regularly visit clients. The new app will mean we can provide an instant personal healthcare quote when we are actually with the client. This will undoubtedly help to secure the business even at a first meeting. I look forward to downloading and using the app over the coming months and seeing how else PruHealth use technology to help intermediaries in the future."

The watched pot and fast CMEs
2011-04-15
If you've ever stood in front of a hot stove, watching a pot of water and waiting impatiently for it to boil, you know what it feels like to be a solar physicist.
Back in 2008, the solar cycle plunged into the deepest minimum in nearly a century. Sunspots all but vanished, solar flares subsided, and the sun was eerily quiet.
"Ever since, we've been waiting for solar activity to pick up," says Richard Fisher, head of the Heliophysics Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington DC. "It's been three long years."
Quiet spells on the sun are nothing new. They come along ...
