WORCESTERSHIRE, ENGLAND, April 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) Following a government backed business start-up scheme, search figures obtained by Google and Experian indicate a significant increase in people searching online for advice on business start-up. Bird and Co Creative, a graphic and web design company, has also experienced a rise in online leads relating to new business marketing. Traditionally, the close of the financial year brings a dip in online searches for terms relating to business start-up. However, this year the trend has changed dramatically - searches for 'business plan UK' were up 60pc and 'small business loan' searches had increased by 34pc.
Ruth Griffiths, Online Marketing Assistant at Bird and Co Creative adds "Through our website analytics we have identified a definite increase in traffic which has specifically been targeting keywords relating to new business logo and web design. The internet has equipped entrepreneurs with the facility to source both information and trade contacts online."
The modern day entrepreneur has a host of online resources at their finger tips for advice and guidance on business start-up and growing their business. If a business is going to fail it tends to do so within the first few years due to a lack of knowledge in taking the business forward after creation. Statistics suggest that as many as 1 in 3 new businesses fail within the first three years, the flip side being that two thirds of new businesses continue trading. Schemes such as StartUp Britain, go a long way in helping entrepreneurs succeed.
One of the main areas where businesses fall down is insufficient market research together with poor marketing. Marketing is a broad term used to refer to a multitude of activities, the most elementary of which and one which is often not used to its full potential is logo design.
Paul Ajao, also of Bird and Co Creative comments "Getting your business noticed is first and foremost. Creating an appealing brand identity is an essential foundation from which to build any business and is a sure way to get those all important leads."
The logo creates the first impression of a business and has the power to indicate the nature of a business. Market research findings will indicate the characteristics of the target market which provides a starting point from which to design the corporate brand. Commonly the logo design and colours are translated across the whole business though printed literature, signage, vehicle graphics and website design.

2011-04-26
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Spicing up your daily diet with some red pepper can curb appetite, especially for those who don't normally eat the popular spice, according to research from Purdue University.
"We found that consuming red pepper can help manage appetite and burn more calories after a meal, especially for individuals who do not consume the spice regularly," said Richard Mattes, distinguished professor of foods and nutrition who collaborated with doctoral student Mary-Jon Ludy. "This finding should be considered a piece of the puzzle because the idea that one small ...
