Buffalo Native And Seven-Year Brain Tumor Survivor Brings His Non-Profit to Buffalo to Increase Brain Tumor Awareness And Raise Funds for Research

Buffalo Native's Miles For Hope organization holds a Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor 5K Awareness Walk/Run to raise funds for research and transportation assistance to brain tumor patients

CLEARWATER, FL, May 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Miles For Hope, Inc. will hold its second annual Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor 5K Awareness Walk/Run on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 9 am at Delaware Park in Buffalo, NY. Proceeds will fund brain tumor research and provide travel assistance to brain tumor patients.

"It has been quite frustrating to see the same vaccine that saved my life, and the lives of others, unavailable to those battling this devastating disease," says Buffalo native Bob Gibbs, founder of Miles for Hope and a brain tumor survivor. "As an organization, we want to ensure that more people have access to the same treatment that helped save my life."

The event is open to all ages. Same-day registration is at 8 am, event begins at 9 am. Registration is $20 for adults until May 1, $25 after May 1. Registration is free for children under 5 years. Participants can walk/run individually or form a team. Post-event celebration to follow the race and includes an award presentation, remembering those battling brain tumor disease as well as those who lost their battle.

Miles for Hope, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding cutting-edge brain tumor research, raising awareness of brain tumors and providing travel assistance to brain tumor patients enrolled in clinical trials.

Miles for Hope was established by Bob & Barb Gibbs to raise funds for promising brain tumor clinical trials and research. We are dedicated to raising funds to improve current treatments for brain tumors, and to assist brain tumor patients with travel expenses for their treatment.
