Buffalo Native's Miles For Hope organization holds a Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor 5K Awareness Walk/Run to raise funds for research and transportation assistance to brain tumor patients

Miles For Hope, Inc. will hold its second annual Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor 5K Awareness Walk/Run on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 9 am at Delaware Park in Buffalo, NY. Proceeds will fund brain tumor research and provide travel assistance to brain tumor patients."It has been quite frustrating to see the same vaccine that saved my life, and the lives of others, unavailable to those battling this devastating disease," says Buffalo native Bob Gibbs, founder of Miles for Hope and a brain tumor survivor. "As an organization, we want to ensure that more people have access to the same treatment that helped save my life."
The event is open to all ages. Same-day registration is at 8 am, event begins at 9 am. Registration is $20 for adults until May 1, $25 after May 1. Registration is free for children under 5 years. Participants can walk/run individually or form a team. Post-event celebration to follow the race and includes an award presentation, remembering those battling brain tumor disease as well as those who lost their battle.
