Sports Factory brings Racket Power Tournament to Hyde Park
There is a hot new table game that is not only fun to play but is a great way to workout. With childhood obesity on the rise, Racket Power is a great way for children to have fun and burn calories.

Sports Factory and Healthy in the Hood presents a Step up 4 Sports Racket Power tournament. Sports Factory is a non-profit organization providing high quality sports camps and training to Chicago area youth. Healthy in the Hood, New York based organization providing healthy eating education and cooking for children. In conjunction with the mission of the Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago Children we present a new and exciting table game to promote physical activity for children and a healthy lifestyle.Racket Power is a safe, novel table sport that is a combination of ping pong and air hockey. It offers a rigorous workout by utilizing ballistic movements. It's not only a fun sport but offers the player a full body workout! In our fight to prevent and decrease childhood obesity we must help children balance the calories consumed from food and beverages with the calories burned through physical activity and normal growth. Racket Power is one way children can be involved in physical competitive play indoor, or out.
Tournament is open to children ages 8-18. Competition at Kenwood Park, 1330 East 50th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60615 on Thursday, August 19, 2010. Come out and play or show your support for the community. Practice sessions start at 1:00pm sharp! Competition will begin at 3:30 with a winner in each age division. Prizes include back to school supplies and $100 in gift certificates from our friends at: Dave & Buster's, Sports Authority, and Target.
Sports Factory Inc., a non profit organization, promotes good health and fitness through sports and recreation for all ages.
