Is there a future career in Home Nursing?

What is the future of nursing careers? Predictions are that in 10 or 20 years, it will look nothing like it does today!

2011-05-31
LONDON, ENGLAND, May 31, 2011 (Press-News.org) With new technologies and drugs, changes in insurance and health care policies, and the shortage in nurses, the profession will have to reinvent itself.

More currently, if the nursing shortage continues, hospitals may have to be reserved only for the very sickest. That means that the number of outpatient care will increase, as will the need for home health care nurses. They will also serve more prominent roles in clinics, consulting firms, insurance companies, and software and technology companies.

All across the country today, as well as around the globe, there is a calling for such an important skill that goes above and beyond. By having a strong base filled with individuals who are dedicated to putting all of the needs and happiness of their patients in the forefront, you are then building a place that is very stable and promising to all of the families who have loved ones in need of basic services in this field, residential, short or long term or private nursing care.

Nurses in the future would probably do much more population-based or community health care. They will identify risks and establish priorities for specific populations and groups. They will provide community education and work with employers and insurance payers to develop programs that save money as well as promote health.

Nursing care is important and is what you are going to get the most of in most medical conditions. The biggest mistake you can make is to assume that your nurses are nothing more than helpers. They know more about medicine and your condition than you think, and they are the ones most intimately involved with how you are doing and what is going on with your body.

Nurses are often the ones that spot problems missed by doctors. Your doctor is probably just as busy as any other doctor, and they can not spend as much time with you as they wish they could. They rely on their nurses to point out problems and to communicate for patients in some cases.

We know that hospitals and clinics are full of depression, fear, tears, and grumpiness... At times, people just need someone to confide in and it's very good to find out that you're there willing to hear them. People who work in the health care sectors should be team players. You are supposed to provide help and support to your colleagues at any time. For instance, turning or moving a heavy patient to their wheelchair needs teamwork.

As a promoter of healthy living, nursing assistants must know about the basic nutrition and diet. Patients in the hospital and nursing homes must receive the recommended nutritional values they need. Your job is to make sure that the patients themselves follow the said guidelines. Undoubtedly, nursing care assistant jobs are important jobs requiring a great deal of patience blended with a warm dedication.

Therefore, no matter what the future holds, nurses will have be prepared to keep learning, growing, and expanding and changing alongside he transformative role of the healthcare profession. That obviously comes easier when one is passionate about the career.
