Dr. Whitfield Diffie is a US cryptographer, known for presenting an entirely new method of exchanging private cryptographic keys over a public network, solving the key exchange issue of cryptography. Dr. Diffie's breakthrough allowed the immediate development of asymmetric key algorithms.
