ANGWIN, CA, June 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Archie Jordan. He's quiet. He's soft spoken. And there's an ever-present aura of peace around him. Yet, at the same time, there's also a dynamic explosion, a creative combustion of sorts, whirling within Jordan at all times. It's raw energy. It's musical fuel.
And when he lights the fires of his mind with it, this multitalented individual is able to create music that over 100 artists have recorded; including Ronnie Milsap, B.J. Thomas, Tina Turner, Barbara Mandrell, Kenny Rogers, Amy Grant, Placido Domingo, Shirley Caesar, The Tams, Steven Curtis Chapman and Engelbert Humperdinck.
And Jordan is still at it! B.J. Thomas just covered his song That's When Love Was Born and releasing this year is a new song titled, Til Today, co-written with Shelly Pieken, and being covered by Lila Cervantes, a powerful new Christian recording artist.
"After living for 25 years in Nashville and having a good bit of success as a songwriter there, I felt it was time to get back to my roots in Georgia. For awhile I lived on my grandparent's old farm. After remarrying 6 years ago, my wife and I decided to move to Metter, where I spent my early childhood. It's a beautiful house with a picturesque yard filled with many dogwood trees, azaleas, and flowers. There is a nice studio in the backyard. Presently I am pursuing new avenues concerning my career, so I'm selling my home and studio and moving on. I believe whoever purchases our property will certainly enjoy its beauty and comforts"--Archie Jordan
Yes, Archie Jordan's home and studio are now on the market. Tucked away into the quaint little town of Metter, Georgia this idyllic 3 bedrm 1.5 bath home and studio where the creative genius of Archie Jordan has been at work, is selling for $250K Click this link for details http://www.archiejordan.com/houseinfo.htm.

Mayo Clinic researchers use human vaccine to cure prostate cancer in mice
2011-06-20
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Mayo Clinic investigators and collaborators from the United Kingdom cured well-established prostate tumors in mice using a human vaccine with no apparent side effects. This novel cancer treatment approach encourages the immune system to rid itself of prostate tumors without assistance from toxic chemotherapies and radiation treatments. Such a treatment model could some day help people to live tumor free with fewer side effects than those experienced from current therapies.
The findings appear in the journal Nature Medicine.
"We are hopeful that this ...
New approach to cancer vaccines proves successful in early studies
2011-06-20
University of Leeds researchers, funded by Cancer Research UK, have used a library of DNA to create a vaccine that could be used to treat cancer, according to a study published in Nature Medicine.
Before now, 'gene therapy' vaccines have often delivered just one gene to stimulate the immune system. It produces a protein, called an antigen, which activates the immune system to destroy cancer cells.
It has been difficult to develop successful cancer vaccines because each tumour has specific proteins and identifying the right antigens has been a huge challenge.
Scientists ...
Single gene controls development of many forms of polycystic disease
2011-06-20
New Haven, Conn. — A single gene is central in the development of several forms of polycystic kidney and liver disease, Yale School of Medicine researchers report in the June 19 issue of Nature Genetics.
The findings suggest manipulating activity of PKD1, the gene causing the most common form of polycystic kidney disease, may prove beneficial in reducing cysts in both liver and kidney.
"We found that these conditions are not the result of an all or nothing phenomenon," said Stefan Somlo, the C.N.H. Long Professor of Medicine and Genetics and Chief, Section of Nephrology ...
