SALT LAKE CITY, UT, July 04, 2011
Employees of iFreedom Direct Corporation, a top-ranked VA mortgage company, are helping U.S. military members stationed in Afghanistan. The project known as "Operation iFreedom Cares" will have sent 1,000 care packages to forward operating bases (FOBs) in that country by March 2012. By the 4th of July 2011, the company will have already sent 100 packages. The large boxes delivered through Operation iFreedom Cares are chock full of the most-requested items like band aids, toothpaste, batteries, coffee, snacks, candy and other hard-to-get items.
"It is our honor to show the men and women of the U.S. military how much we care, after all they continue to do for us," said Dave Turville, Production Manager of iFreedom Direct. Turville went on to say, "It is very touching when we get emails back from the recipients letting us know how much they truly appreciate the things we are sending them."
According to an email from the commanding officer of one FOB that recently received three of iFreedom's care packages, the items were received with great pleasure. The troops stationed at that particular base don't receive much outside of what family members send; some don't receive anything at all. So getting multiple and regular care packages full of things they need, like the ones sent by iFreedom, show the troops that people really do care.
The majority of iFreedom's mortgage product is VA loans, which are part of the benefits received by military members. iFreedom provides VA purchase and refinance loans to those who are eligible.
iFreedom Direct has VA approval to originate and underwrite VA-guaranteed mortgages. Many of the company's employees are veterans themselves, and each year the company's employees take on a different military-gratitude project. For instance the "phone home" calling program of 2010 enabled troops stationed in the Middle East to use calling cards, paid for through iFreedom employee payroll deductions, to stay in touch with loved ones at home.
