Tampa Non-Profit Brings Relief Through Washing Clothes Of Those Less Fortunate

Volunteers will spend Saturday, July 16th helping others wash and dry their clothes.

LUTZ, FL, July 08, 2011

The Tampa chapter of Current will spend Saturday, July 16th, volunteering their time to help wash the clothes of those less fortunate. The event will begin at 10:00 at the Leesburg Laundromat - 1407 N. Citrus Blvd. (Hwy 27) Leesburg, FL 34748.

The Laundry Love Project provides an opportunity for volunteers from throughout the community to assist those in need by helping them afford a simple, yet often unnoticed common need: doing their laundry. "Current volunteers provide those less fortunate with the ability to wash and dry their clothes," said Current President Jason Sowell. "The volunteers provide support by helping those less fortunate with washing and drying their clothes as well as spending quality time talking with families; we show them we care."

This is Current's first Landry Love Project in Leesburg and their volunteers are excited and ready to serve. "We are excited to be in Leesburg for our next project. We encourage anyone interested in helping with this event to join us on Saturday morning. We also need the support of local businesses to help provide coins for the laundry as well and the detergent and goodies for the kids," said Sowell.

Current is seeking donations of laundry detergent, quarters (rolls of $10), 1-gallon Ziploc bags, garbage bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener, and laundry baskets. Donations can be brought to the event on the morning of the 16th or contact Jason Sowell at 727.537.9082. More information about this event can be found online at http://www.Engagethecurrent.org
