YORKTOWN, VA, November 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) Kevin Kramer, a certified building analyst from Dr. Energy Saver Yorktown has recently been featured on the local television program, The Hampton Roads Show.
The Hampton Roads Show is a local lifestyle TV show that airs on weekday mornings at 11 a.m. on WAVY channel 10, in front of a live studio audience.
Leaky houses are big money wasters according to Kramer, who says that such leaks cause a homeowner to continue paying to heat a space over and over again. In other words, the heat from the first time the heater turned on has already been lost, and has to be replenished, so the heater continues turning off and on.
"Most homes are 2-3 times leakier than what they should be," said Kramer.
As heat rises, it leaks out of the house and through the attic. Cold air then leaks back into the house, creating a continuous heating cycle that will cost you financially.
Looking to upgrade insulation or replace windows and doors? Kramer added a disclaimer that these may not be the root of the problem. Instead, Kramer recommends a whole house energy audit to identify where air is leaking out of your home.
Stay tuned to The Hampton Roads show to see a return of Dr. Energy Saver on Thursday, December 8, 2011.
Dr. Energy Saver Yorktown specializes in the building science behind how houses use, lose and waste energy. Some of their services include renewable energy resources, heating and cooling, air sealing, and home insulation in Chesapeake and surrounding areas.

Physicist Richard Feynman in his famous 1959 talk, "Plenty of Room at the Bottom," described the precise control at the atomic level promised by molecular machines of the future. More than 50 years later, synthetic molecular switches are a dime a dozen, but synthetically designed molecular machines are few and far between.
Northwestern University chemists recently teamed up with a University of Maine physicist to explore the question, "Can artificial molecular machines deliver on their promise?" Their provocative analysis provides a roadmap outlining future challenges ...

Inventory management software provides real time data on sales, stock levels and orders within your business, whether the business trades on the high street, online or both. For example, should an item suddenly become out of stock, all terminals and points of sale for the business, and potentially any websites as well, can be instantly updated with the information, removing the risk that orders can be taken for unavailable goods. Once an item is back in stock, the information can be relayed back to the terminals, points of sale and websites, enabling the item to be displayed ...
Study of flow induced by sine wave and saw tooth plasma actuators

They developed novel plasma actuators using various winding-shaped electrodes to create plasma actuators which induce three-dimensional variations in the shear layer, offering significant flexibility in flow control. Their work, entitled "Study of Flow Induced by Sine Wave and Saw Tooth Plasma ...
