Songwriter Julie Frost Wins Golden Globe Award and Competes in Denmark's Eurovision Song Contest

Songwriter Julie Frost is a Golden Globe Award winner for Best Original Song for co-writing "Masterpiece" for Madonna's film "W.E."

2012-01-25
LOS ANGELES, CA, January 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) Chart-topping singer-songwriter Julie Frost is proud to add Golden Globe Award winner to her list of accomplishments. Frost recently won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for co-writing "Masterpiece" with Madonna and Jimmy Harry. The song was produced by William Orbit to be featured in Madonna's new film, "W.E." Frost's road to success is a fairytale that took her from indie artist to sought-after singer-song writer. "It is an honor to receive a Golden Globe Award and to be acknowledged in a category that included so many of my musical heroes," says Frost. The top-liner has her sights set on the Eurovision Song Contest Awards 2012, where "Best Thing I Got", an upbeat pop love song sung by AYA (aka Yanne Friis), co-written by Frost and John Gordon, will compete on January 21 for a chance to represent Denmark.
Her journey from indie hit maker to Golden Globe Award winner began with a road block . Early in Frost's musical career, she had stage fright but forced herself to perform at open mic nights weekly to overcome this. With her newfound confidence, Frost taught music, sold original CDs and lent her voice and music to major ad campaigns that helped her develop a devoted following. This encouraged Frost to write and produced her independent album "The Wave", which was critically acclaimed and hit number one on charts on several AAA stations across the nation. Frost's musical passion was recognized when President of North America Creative for EMI Music Publishing Jon Platt offered Frost the deal that changed her life.
Since then, Frost has co-written songs for many artists including: Beyonce's single "Countdown" on her platinum selling album "4"; the Black Eyed Peas' "Just Can't Get Enough", which is one of Billboard's top 10 songs of 2011 on their album "The Beginning"; Ed Sheeran's "Kiss Me" for his album "+", which hit number one on the UK Album charts; and other platinum-selling artists.

In 2010, Frost and Gordon wrote the song that won Germany the Eurovision Song Contest Award for the first time in 28 years: "Satellite", sung by Lena Meyer-Landrut, then topped music charts and became the name of a car in Europe.
