Len Gieck, President of Loreck Homes is gearing up to head South in March to build homes for villages

2012-02-08
CALGARY, AB, CANADA, February 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) Loreck Homes President and Founder, Len Gieck will be returning to Guatemala with the not-for-profit organization, Arms of Jesus, to build homes in March for villages which have been devastated by earthquakes. Gieck and his team will also be working on improving the school in Parramos.

Through past trips, Gieck and various other members of Loreck's staff, traders, and suppliers have built over 100 homes, and provided villagers with food and water filters. "We get so caught up in our own lives that we forget that there are others who could use our help," says Gieck, "Building homes in Guatemala is a great way to use our skills to give back to a less fortunate community."

Funds for these building projects have all been provided through donations in Canada, and volunteers who participate pay for their own transportation to Guatemala. Anyone interested in donating for these projects can contact Loreck Homes at 403-256-3042. Donors will receive a tax exemption receipt.

Patent Pending Technology Reduces High Speed Hand Dryer Noise

2012-02-08
Hand Dryer noise makes it hard to carry a conversation while drying your hands. This has been a common complaint for years and manufacturers have been working on this problem with little to no success. Until now. Traditional hand dryers use a slower moving large volume of warm air to evaporate moisture from one's hands. The low velocity of the air is slow to penetrate the surface of the water, thus resulting in long drying times. Newer high speed hand dryers create about 50% more noise than a conventional hand dryer. The problem occurs when the high velocity air hits ...

Single or Coupled, Romance Novels Make the Perfect Valentine's Gift

2012-02-08
As the big V-day fast approaches, society seems to polarize into two groups: couples and singles. But author C. Elizabeth believes strongly that romance novels have appeal for both groups as the big day approaches simplicity and passion. For those of us who haven't been hit by cupid's arrow this year, the romance novel is the perfect way to treat yourself to an evening of quiet bliss. "It may sound cliche, but cliches usually have a basis in truth - because really, what woman doesn't love an evening in a warm bubble bath, a glass of wine and good chocolate? ...
