HONG KONG, February 23, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts will be hosting a performance of the Birmingham Stage Company's production of Horrible Histories: Awful Egyptians next month.
Aimed at family audiences, this 60-minute show takes kids and their parents on a fun and fascinating trip around ancient Egypt, teaching them all the gruesome facts about the land of the pharaohs.
Based on the massively popular children's history book of the same name by Terry Deary, the show covers interesting topics such as the myths surrounding the Egyptian gods, as well as the reasons why mummies were made.
Songs and audience participation sequences will help to engage children with the subject as they learn about how mummification worked and the paths taken by souls through the afterlife.
Performances will be held at the academy's drama theatre from March 30th to April 1st at various times each day.
Tickets can be purchased online for as little as HK$195 (GBP15.90), with cheaper rates available for those booking in groups of ten or more.
