RALEIGH, NC, March 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Chef's Academy (http://www.thechefsacademy.com), the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 110-year-old, nationally accredited institution that offers 40 degree programs in five schools of study, has announced that National Division President Jayson M. Boyers has been named to the Wake Education Partnership Programs Committee. The Wake Education Partnership is an independent nonprofit dedicated to creating world-class schools in Wake County through business and community involvement.
As a member of the programs committee, Boyers will work with the organization's vice president of programs and committee chair to design and implement strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between these initiatives and guiding principles. He will review and identify needed revisions to the organization's mission, vision, core values and guiding principles. Boyers will ensure that programmatic work adds value to public education and targets student achievement as well.
Boyers was the dean at Indiana Business College, which became Harrison College, before heading up the college's culinary division as regional president in 2005. He is a Rotarian and has served on multiple boards of directors for nonprofits, including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, Gleaners Food Bank, Now for the Future and Taste of the NFL. He has served on the International Dyslexia Association, Indiana Chapter; the MLK Montessori School Board; the Invent Tomorrow Bi-Partisan Commission Government Efficiency; and the Social Marketing Roundtable. His professional designations and affiliations include FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute), Edge Certification and Endorsement, and North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (NCRLA). Boyers maintains membership in the Greater Raleigh Chamber Board of Advisors and is a Morrisville Chamber member. He received Triangle Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Leadership Award in 2011.
