LONG BEACH, CA, March 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers in some 20 US international airports, as well as 2 pre-flight inspection airports in Canada (Toronto and Vancouver).
The process is really easy...At airports, program participants proceed to Global Entry kiosks, present their machine-readable passport or U.S. permanent resident card, place their fingertips on the scanner for fingerprint verification, and make a customs declaration. The kiosk issues the traveler a transaction receipt and directs the traveler to baggage claim and the exit. Almost sounds too good to be true!
Global Entry is open to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, Dutch citizens, and Mexican nationals, age 18 and over, who have never been convicted of a crime in any country or violated customs rules. Canadian citizens and residents may enjoy Global Entry benefits through membership in the NEXUS program. Travelers must be pre-approved and undergo a background check and in-person interview before enrollment.
Eligible travelers fill out an online application, pay a $100 processing fee. The CBP screens the application and contacts the applicant to schedule an in-person interview at a Global Entry airport. At the interview, the applicant is questioned about the application, fingerprinted and photographed.
Approved applicants are admitted to the program for five years and receive a CBP Global Entry sticker in their passport, and also enjoy benefits through TSA PreCheck expedited boarding.
"Your time is valuable. Immigration Compliance Group will file the application for individual travelers or will work with employers directly to assist their staff in facilitating expedited and effortless US customs processing," explained Leslie Davis, Managing Director of Immigration Compliance Group.

In four studies the authors examined the difference between framing ...

The authors say this "decision quicksand" results from people assuming that ...
