FERNDALE, MI, May 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) Join Chuck and Dave's for "Cinco 'D' Mayo" on Saturday May 5 in Foxtown at Bookie's Bar & Grille in Detroit. This FREE Cinco de Mayo party celebrates the Mexican holiday of freedom, democracy, heritage and pride - with a distinctively Detroit flair! Revelers are invited to join the party at this fun and flavorful event, featuring Latin dance demonstrations (and lessons), Mexican food, salsa and tequila sampling and music! Cinco "D" Mayo will take place inside Bookie's Bar & Grille and outside in a huge heated tent from 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend!
Cinco "D' Mayo will celebrate the best in Mexican food and drink. Partygoers can purchase delicious food from Cinco "D" Mayo's onsite food truck rally. Participating Food Trucks are Taco Mama, El Guapo, Ned's Travel Burger, and the Mac Shack. The Detroit BBQ Company will also be grilling up lip-smacking Mexican-themed barbecue. Additionally, sponsor Chuck and Dave's will offer a variety of their tasty salsas for sale.
At the Mexican Beer Garden, a variety of thirst quenching Mexican lagers will be available including Tecate, Dos Equis and Sol.
Tequila lovers will be thrilled with Cinco "D' Mayo's "Tequila Villa" - where participants can sip, sample and savor over 15 brands of tequila - including Sauza, Hornitos, Cazadores, Corzo, Tres Generaciones and more. Tickets are $25 (available at the party or in advance at neptix.com) for the Tequila Tasting and are good for 15 samples or five shots or cocktails.
What Cinco party would be complete without dancing? Cinco "D" Mayo" will offer Latin dance demonstrations - including Latin dance lessons from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m courtesy of Troy Dance Studio. Additionally, DJ Cisco will be spinning from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m., adding audio spice to the party!
With the Detroit Tigers game kicking off at 2:05 p.m., Cinco "D" Mayo is the perfect party for crowds to stop by before, during or after an anticipated victory - and even more reason to celebrate pride in the "D!"
Those looking for transportation to Cinco "D" Mayo are encouraged to reach out to the Detroit Bus Company (thedetroitbus.com) in order to have not only safe passage to and from the event, but to also experience one of Detroit's most exciting and forward-thinking modes of public transit.
