Current of Tampa Bay Heads to Las Vegas to Begin Bi-Annual Free Laundry Project

Current of Tampa Bay, Inc. Travels Back to Las Vegas for Fourth Consecutive Year

LUTZ, FL, June 08, 2012

Current of Tampa Bay, Inc. is traveling back to Las Vegas for a Laundry Love Project. This will the the fourth project in Las Vegas, which will begin the transition from annually to bi-annually. The Laundry Love Project will take place Saturday, June 9, at A+ Laundromat located at 2448 E Bonanza Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89101 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Laundry Love Project has helped over 1,000 families complete over 5,000 loads of laundry so far this year. The average cost of washing and drying one load of laundry at the laundromat is $6 while the average cost at home is only about $1. According to the US Census Bureau, just under 12% of the population is under the poverty level. Current is dedicated to assisting families with this expensive yet necessary task.

Although Las Vegas is America's playground, there are a lot of needs and hurt there. Current's President, Jason Sowell, recognizes this and his plan of doing two Laundry Love Projects in Las Vegas per year is coming to reality. Volunteers and donations are needed for this project as well as for the monthly projects held in Florida.

Strategic Applications Group (http://www.sagusa.org/), South Hills Community Church, Henderson, NV (http://www.southhills.tv), and Las Vegas Starbucks #10607, have kindly agreed to offer monetary donations, manpower, and supplies as support for the Las Vegas project. Local community members can assist through donating much needed supplies: detergent, quarters (rolls of $10), 1-gallon Ziploc bags, garbage bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener, and laundry baskets. More information about this event can be found online at http://www.LaundrybyCurrent.org.
