LONDON, ENGLAND, June 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) IPR License is set to launch the first online platform for the listing and licensing of book rights. Launching on 30th April, IPR License aims to revolutionise the licensing of literary content and provide a key monetisation stream for publishers.
With 13m records already on the system, publishers can assign titles where they hold rights, as well as add new records and information, and be contacted directly by interested purchasers. The system also ranks those rights receiving the most interest, those recently added and recently licensed.
To sign-up, from 30th April publishers can complete a straightforward registration at http://www.iprlicense.com. IPR License charges an annual membership fee dependent on company size, which covers all of the company's users, and a renewable license for those looking to contact rights-holders with a view to purchase.
IPR License is in the process of consulting with the Publishers Association, Publishers Licensing Society, Copyright Licensing Agency, Professional Publishers Association and Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers and is also in talks with related industries, such as music, film, design and architecture, over providing an across-sector licensing platform.
With huge interest already being received by IPR License, the company is also in the first stages of lobbying government for a UK standard in copyright exchange. IPR License is a subsidiary of IPR Connections, whose management has a successful 40-year history in the licensing of intellectual property.
Tom Chalmers, Managing Director, of IPR License, commented: 'We highlighted a gap in the market - content is where the value is in the current creative sector, but there was no process of licensing in line with today's global and technologically advanced marketplace - and the reaction to IPR License so far has been phenomenal.
'We believe we have found the route forward to licensing literary rights and we look forward to very exciting times ahead."
ENDS
IPR License is the ground breaking platform for publishers and agents to list and license their literary rights, providing access to a global marketplace.
