WILTON MANORS, FL, July 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) Bishop Randy White returned full time two weeks ago to Without Walls International Church three years after he stepped down for health reasons and to mourn the loss of his daughter who passed away in 2008 from a brain tumor. After the tragic death of his daughter, his world spiraled down into the darkest place you could imagine. After turning his back on God for not healing Kristen along with multiple other life crises, he became addicted to pills, prescribed by his doctors and attempted suicide. Bishop Randy sought professional help and finally pulled himself out, only by the grace of God. He talks about all of this in his new book titled "Only God Knows Why" with the forward written by Kid Rock. Bishop Randy White will share his personal testimony of God's restoration at the church's 21 Year Anniversary Homecoming Celebration service on Sunday, July 15th at 10:00am only.
Bishop White sent out an email to the congregation last week upon his return in which he said, "I am so thrilled to be back at Without Walls International Church, God has done wonderful work in my life. He is the God of Restoration! I believe in Without Walls, and I know that God's hand is upon this great church". Without Walls was just awarded the Best Church in Tampa award for 2012 by Tampa Radio Station 95.7 The Beat.
Bishop Randy White's first week back at the church was spent working with all the staff to prepare for the 21 Year Anniversary and Homecoming Service at Without Walls coming up on July 15th, 2012. The Bishop spent the majority of his time restoring the various programs the church has built over the last 20 years including the children's church for kids age 6 months to 11 years old, youth group, life and discipleship classes, and the homeless ministry. Last Sunday the church's homeless ministry bussed in 80 men and woman from the streets of Tampa for Sunday service and a hot meal. After the service and meal Bishop White walked around to speak with the men and woman and personally gave each one $20 out of his own pocket before they left the church. Bishop White stated, "It has always been in my heart to take care of the poor and needy. $20 might not be a lot to many but a little job done is better than a big job talked about. The true mission of any church should be to take care of the indigent. I am back to lead Without Walls to the basics of what made this church so great and I challenge every church in Tampa to do the same. I've said this before: if you see a man standing in the rain, give him an umbrella."
Bishop Randy White and Without Walls invite you, your family and friends to join them every Sunday at 9AM and 11AM and Wednesday's at 7PM for weekly service. Without Walls Spanish service starts at 7PM on Saturdays with an English translation. Parking, Kids Church and nursery are available onsite at the church. Prompt Proofing Blog Post: Some Debatable Issues, Part 2
2012-07-06
Not everything in grammar is cut and dried (for more debatable issues that have grammarians disagreeing, please see last month's post here).
This month we look at words taken directly from Latin and whether or not they should be treated as singular or plural. Words such as 'data' and 'media' are seen used with both singular and plural verbs and there seems to be no consensus as to which is correct, particularly with data. Both are, of course, plural nouns though the singular form 'medium' is undoubtedly more widely known, and used, than 'datum'.
So should it be 'The ...

Study in Nature sheds new light on planet formation
2012-07-05
Athens, Ga. – A study published in the July 5 edition of the journal Nature is challenging scientists' understanding of planet formation, suggesting that planets might form much faster than previously thought or, alternatively, that stars harboring planets could be far more numerous.
The study—a collaboration between scientists at the University of Georgia; the University of California, San Diego; the University of California, Los Angeles; California State Polytechnic University and the Australian National University—began with a curious and unexpected finding: Within ...
Cystic fibrosis makes airways more acidic, reduces bacterial killing
2012-07-05
The human airway is a pretty inhospitable place for microbes. There are numerous immune defense mechanisms poised to kill or remove inhaled bacteria before they can cause problems. But cystic fibrosis (CF) disrupts these defenses, leaving patients particularly susceptible to airway infection, which is the major cause of disease and death in CF.
Using a unique animal model of CF, a team of scientists from the University of Iowa has discovered a surprising difference between healthy airways and airways affected by CF that leads to reduced bacterial killing in CF airways. ...

The report, which was conducted by the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), the Institute of Zoology (UK) and the Hanoi School of Public Health in Vietnam, maps poverty, livestock-keeping and the diseases humans get from animals, and presents a "top 20" ...
New Stanford method enables sequencing of fetal genomes using only maternal blood sample
2012-07-05
STANFORD, Calif. -- Researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine have for the first time sequenced the genome of an unborn baby using only a blood sample from the mother.
The findings from the new approach, to be published July 4 in Nature, are related to research that was reported a month ago from the University of Washington. That research used a technique previously developed at Stanford to sequence a fetal genome using a blood sample from the mother, plus DNA samples from both the mother and father.
The whole genome sequencing in the new Stanford study, ...
Platelet drug shows clinical benefits for severe, unresponsive aplastic anemia
2012-07-05
Eltrombopag, a drug that was designed to stimulate production of platelets from the bone marrow and thereby improve blood clotting, can raise blood cell levels in some people with severe aplastic anemia who have failed all standard therapies.
About one-third of aplastic anemia cases do not respond to standard therapy, a combination of immune-suppressing drugs. Although bone marrow stem cell transplantation is an option for some, patients without a matched donor have few treatment options. The findings of this new clinical study, carried out by the National Heart, Lung, ...
Discovery improves understanding of early onset inflammatory disease
2012-07-05
Scientists at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have discovered a 'constant cloud' of potent inflammatory molecules surrounding the cells responsible for diseases such as thickening of the arteries and rheumatoid arthritis.
Published online today by The Journal of Cell Science, the findings could eventually lead to new treatments for chronic inflammatory diseases. Cardiovascular disease arising from atherosclerosis (thickening of the arteries) kills around 17 million people worldwide each year, including 120,000 people in England and Wales, while rheumatoid arthritis ...
