HOLLYWOOD, FL, August 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) Daniel J. Swanson, II, Teaching Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been selected as an Executive Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Daniel J. Swanson, II's commitment to excellence in Engineering.
Swanson, who began working in the field in 2000, is serving as a teacher assistant for Engineering Mechanics and Astronautics 201: Statics. He teaches discussions of 20-30 students per week, reviews material from lectures, and goes over any questions that students may have. He has administered quizzes and has also assisted with the 202: Dynamics level course and the 405: Finite Element Analysis courses as well. He creates and grades homework and also serves as a research assistant. He is currently working on his thesis for his PhD.
Crediting numerous professors to his success in his area of study, Swanson says that the astronautics/engineering physics program was the right choice for him.
"I'm very, very concerned about the environment and the future of this planet," Swanson explained. "I decided that with my education and what I've already been able to gain in my lifetime, there is no reason I shouldn't be able to help create some new form of cheaper, more efficient form of energy for the children of tomorrow."
Swanson currently holds a Master's Degree in Engineering Mechanics in Astronautics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
