Denver Press Club to present co-authors Chris Tomer, Dr. Jon Kedrowski on August 20 at 1330 Glenarm Pl.

2012-08-18
DENVER, CO, August 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) Ever wonder what it's like to sleep on the summits of Colorado's highest mountains?
That's exactly what co-authors Chris Tomer, who is a meteorologist with both KDVR Fox 31 and KWGN CW-2, and Dr. Jon Kedrowski, a geographer and professor, did in their quest to sleep on top of every Colorado Fourteener in one summer. They accomplished that goal in 95 days.

The Denver Press Club will host them in a free Book Beat evening about their new book, "Sleeping on the Summits" ($27.95, Westcliffe Publishing), starting at 6 p.m. Monday, August 20, upstairs at the club, 1330 Glenarm Place (across from the Denver Athletic Club).

Their remarkable adventure showcases mountain geography, meteorology, climate and geology of Colorado's mountain regions. They'll also present a slide show -- and talk about encountering the dangers of lightning, rain and hail on their climbs.

No registration required; just show up. For more information, contact Bruce Goldberg at 303-803-9226.
