Top Holiday Gift Idea for Small Spaces - Introducing the Ekettle Electric Water Kettle
2012-08-21
AUSTIN, TX, August 21, 2012 (Press-News.org) With the tea market growing 12% per year for the last 5 years, electric kettles will be the hot holiday gift in 2012. Known simply as the "Ekettle", this item by Chantal will bring bold color and fresh style to a traditionally utilitarian category; making it the perfect gift during the holiday season. Contrary to the pitcher style shape that has dominated the electric kettle world, the Ekettle offers the comforting look of a stovetop kettle. It is offered in four different finishes including stunning Chili Red, Indigo Blue, Brushed Stainless Steel and Onyx, Chantal's brilliant metallic black. It has a 52 oz. capacity and a Suggested MAP Retail of $79.99. The Ekettle is available at Bloomingdale's.

The Ekettle features a number of elements perfected by Chantal over the years including an ergonomic handle with eye catching stainless steel accents and durable stainless steel spout and lid. The lid even features the signature Chantal knob that is seen on a variety of their best selling stovetop kettle models. The kettle has many additional design aspects common to electric kettles including a water level window, indicator light and removable mesh filter to prevent spillage.

The Ekettle provides effortless function. Simply push down on the on/off switch and wait for your water to boil. The indicator light will let you know that your water is boiling and it will turn off when the water is ready. Electric kettles boil water faster than stovetop kettles and they are also much safer. The Ekettle even features a boil-dry protective mechanism that will turn the kettle off if it is accidentally turned on without water inside. "We always knew that we would need a great looking, top quality item if we were going to enter the electric kettle market and we took our time to develop a kettle that would give a consumer just that!" said Heida Thurlow, Founder and CEO of Chantal.

Chantal Corporation was founded in 1971 by Heida Thurlow, who has received numerous design and utility patents from around the world for teakettles, bakeware and cookware innovations. Chantal continues to dedicate itself to the creation of innovative products that bring elegance to a healthy lifestyle. When not focused on product innovation, Chantal strives to find ways to give back by utilizing their resources for things like coordinating a food drive to benefit the Houston Food Bank, raising funds for Alzheimer's Disease research and donating kitchenware to women's shelters. Molecular code cracked

2012-08-20
The code determines the recognition of RNA molecules by a superfamily of RNA-binding proteins called pentatricopeptide repeat (PPR) proteins. When a gene is switched on, it is copied into RNA. This RNA is then used to make proteins that are required by the organism for all of its vital functions. If a gene is defective, its RNA copy and the proteins made from this will also be defective. This forms the basis of many terrible genetic disorders in humans. RNA-binding PPR proteins could revolutionise the way we treat disease. Their secret is their versatility - they ...
