Nazmiyal Collection - A Small Antique Rug Company is Thriving Despite a Down Economy
2012-09-14
NEW YORK, NY, September 14, 2012 (Press-News.org) The antique rug world has seen many changes over the past few years and while the economic atmosphere would seem detrimental to the demand for these luxury items, in reality there has never been a better time for these works of art. Interior design professionals are as busy as ever and have been clamoring for the next major source for rare and decorative pieces while collectors from around the world are paying record-setting prices for the best pieces. While many companies have been downsizing and depleting their inventories in order to pay bills, there is one considerably smaller company who seems to be emerging from this turmoil stronger than ever. The Nazmiyal Collection in New York has been aggressively buying, merging with other companies to increase the size and quality of their inventory while simultaneously pushing down the prices for these coveted pieces.

"All I have in the world is my inventory - while other dealers have shifted their focus to new productions or to other forms of investments I have been aggressively acquiring pieces and offering them to the public at price points that are very hard for the major retailers to compete with," says Jason Nazmiyal, owner of the Nazmiyal Collection in NY.

While everyone else seems to be struggling and cutting costs, Nazmiyal has seen its greatest expansion both in personnel as well as inventory. Due to Jason's personal commitment to the business, they are quickly becoming the premier source for dealers, auction houses, private consumers, museums, collectors, investors and interior design professionals from all over the world. "Selling a rug to China has become just as simple as selling it to Chicago. The world is now truly flat," said Jason Nazmiyal in a recent interview to Hali Magazine.

They have built a reputation for having some of the best pieces in the market and due to their low day-to-day operation costs and strong buying practices they are able to offer these rugs at such competitive price points that many people in the trade are left scratching their heads. With their great state and 21st century approach, Nazmiyal Collection has now officially become a Mecca for anyone who is looking for great pieces and cares about value.

Study explains decrease in insulin-producing beta cells in diabetes

Study explains decrease in insulin-producing beta cells in diabetes
2012-09-13
New York, NY (September 13, 2012) — Scientists generally think that reduced insulin production by the pancreas, a hallmark of type 2 diabetes, is due to the death of the organ's beta cells. However, a new study by Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) researchers shows that beta cells do not die but instead revert to a more fundamental, undifferentiated cell type. The findings suggest that strategies to prevent beta cells from de-differentiating, or to coax them to re-differentiate, might improve glucose balance in patients with type 2 diabetes. The study, conducted ...

"These efforts should spur more studies to fully understand the genomic landscape of lung cancer—more specifically, those who have no ...

Fruit flies reveal surprising new evolutionary link for studying human health

2012-09-13
CINCINNATI – New research reveals that fruit flies and mammals may share a surprising evolutionary link in how they control body temperature through circadian rhythm, unlocking new ways to study the insects as models of human development and disease. The study posted online Sept. 13 by Current Biology reports that similar to people, Drosophila fruit flies – a common research tool in life sciences – have a genetically driven internal clock. This circadian clock prompts the insects to seek out warmer or cooler external temperatures according to the time of the day. Cold-blooded ...

Neural stem cells regenerate axons in severe spinal cord injury

2012-09-13
In a study at the University of California, San Diego and VA San Diego Healthcare, researchers were able to regenerate "an astonishing degree" of axonal growth at the site of severe spinal cord injury in rats. Their research revealed that early stage neurons have the ability to survive and extend axons to form new, functional neuronal relays across an injury site in the adult central nervous system (CNS). The study also proved that at least some types of adult CNS axons can overcome a normally inhibitory growth environment to grow over long distances. Importantly, ...
