SACRAMENTO, CA, October 11, 2010 (Press-News.org) For years the numbers of people experiencing chronic pain and coexisting psychological disorders, including addiction, have been increasing significantly. According to research published in Pain Physician Journal (2006), 90 percent of people in the US receiving treatment for pain management are prescribed opiate medication. Of that number 9 percent to 41 percent had opiate abuse/addiction problems.
The Addiction Free Pain Management (APM) 20 CE Hour Certification training is designed to teach the skills needed to successfully work with people with chronic pain and potential or actual addictive disorders. The APM Treatment System is a strategic and systematic clinical training process that successfully addresses the challenges of addictive disorders and those associated with pain disorders.
This will be accomplished using a combination of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, as well as dyad and small group experiential exercises. Afterward you will be eligible to complete the optional Competency Certification credential by submitting an APM Certification Portfolio to The Dr. Grinstead; Training Director of the Gorski-CENAPS Corporation.
