MISSISSAUGA, ON, October 26, 2012 (Press-News.org) With all eyes on the upcoming U.S. election, it's not surprising that the newest Nanoblock sets to hit Canadian store shelves this fall are already gaining traction. Introduced for the 2012 season are the White House, Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building, extremely small and realistic building sets that are so incredible, even adults like them.

"These sets combine the precision of model making with the familiarity of brick building, making them an ideal choice for anyone who loves a construction challenge," said Mark Pettifer, director of marketing at RP Toys, the exclusive North American dealer of Nanoblocks. Designed for building enthusiasts eight years of age and older, Nanoblocks are enjoying popularity among all age groups with equal interest from both sexes. RP Toys plans to keep excitement mounting by introducing new sets on a regular basis. Also new in Canada this year are three Nanoblock sets from the Instrument series: a black guitar, drum set and grand piano.

What sets Nanoblocks apart is their size - not only do most finished projects fit in the palm of a hand, but their micro-sized three-dimensional construction also offers an unprecedented level of detail, realistically replicating world famous landmarks, exotic animals and other popular items. First introduced in Japan in 2008, Nanoblocks made their American debut in 2010, receiving recognition as "Best Constructive Play" from the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA) for 2011. Developed in Tokyo, Nanoblocks feature a patented feather design that locks pieces firmly together while allowing for versatility in design at the same time.

Nanoblocks are available now at Toys "R" Us and other select Canadian specialty toy stores, including Scholar's Choice. Prices range from $10 to $50 depending on the set purchased.
