MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, November 03, 2012 (Press-News.org) Americain and Dunaden are favoured to repeat their Melbourne Cup wins and head the "Internationals only" market with online bookmaker www.sportsbet.com.au.
Sportsbet.com.au is allowing punters to wager on which International and which Australian trained horses will be first past the post in next Tuesday's great race.
Americain, the 2010 Cup winner, is $3.50 favourite for the Internationals, ahead of defending champ Dunaden at $4.00. Geelong Cup winner Gatewood is certain to shorten in from $17 if he can win on Saturday and secure his place in the field.
At $4.50, Maluckyday is firm favourite for the Aussies. Nearest to the 'team Hawkes' trained runner is Ethiopia at $7.00 with Lights Of Heaven at $9.00.
"There is plenty of interest in these markets. Some punters are very wary and uncertain of how to line up some of the invaders form. Others just want to back the locals, so we're giving punters the best of both worlds," sportsbet.com.au's Ben Hawes said.
Sportsbet.com.au has also opened a market on whether the Cup will be won by either an Australian or International trained horse, with International at $1.65 and Australian at $2.20.
Americain ($6.00) remains the Melbourne Cup favourite, ahead of Dunaden at $7.00, while Mounth Athos ($11 into $10) and Maluckyday ($11 into $10) have firmed into the third and fourth lines of betting respectively.

Illegal Florida DUI Checkpoint Leads to Dismissed Drunk Driving Charges
2012-11-03
Taking a firm stand against Florida driving under the influence charges can take many forms, from fighting breathalyzer results to challenging the results of field sobriety tests. A recent incident in the Tampa area reveals that the circumstances of a DUI checkpoint also provide a basis for criminal defense against a conviction for DUI.
As most drivers who are out on weekend nights are aware, DUI traffic stops are regularly conducted across the state by the Florida Highway Patrol, sheriff's deputies and local police departments. However, law enforcement must abide by ...
New Federal Hours of Service Requirements: Is the Solution Now Part of the Problem?
2012-11-03
Policy makers with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) have puzzled for years over how to make the roads safer for commercial vehicle traffic and passenger cars alike. Regulations involving weight restrictions, minimum rest breaks, limitations on the use of electronic devices behind the wheel of commercial vehicles, more stringent DWI/DUI enforcement and health screenings are all designed to ensure that the people put in charge of commercial trucks, vans and buses have the training and skill necessary.
Among other safety initiatives, the FMCSA has ...

Equal Opportunity Employment Agency Updates Complaint Process Rules
2012-11-03
The federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has released final rule changes that should streamline its complaint process for employees. Employees are protected from workplace discrimination by federal law and can pursue a discrimination complaint through the EEOC when they feel their rights have been violated.
The EEOC is a federal agency that enforces the country's equal opportunity employment laws. These laws prohibit employers from discriminating against employees or job applicants in hiring, firing, promotion, benefits and other employment decisions. ...
Will Hurricane Sandy Increase Bankruptcies?
2012-11-03
The full economic impact of Hurricane Sandy probably won't be felt for many months or even years. But it is possible to speculate. Time will tell whether these guesses are correct.
Public employees who receive overtime will certainly benefit. Law enforcement, sanitation crews, transit workers and others will find themselves working 12-hour shifts for the foreseeable future and being paid accordingly. And workers in the construction industry will probably see an uptick in work as people begin to rebuild.
However, other employees may not be so lucky. People in hard-hit ...
